Yes they are. I really don't think that we have the same plant sold as "Honeybells" at all. I have made friends with a garden center owner who likes hummingbirds and he gave me a different pink cuphea that has even smaller blooms. I will have to wait for the rain to stop for a day or two before I can get a pic because the rain has washed it's 'ears' away. In return for his gift, I gave him one of the Honeybells. It is the year of tiny micro cuphea's here. I will have frustrated birds... and I am wondering what the Japanese Beetles will think of them.

I’m collecting leaves of Common Milkweed that have Monarch eggs on them. Some have hatched. If I don’t collect them the wasp eat them. I raise them in my sunroom.

First picture is a Nicotania plant blooming away. Hopefully the hummingbird’s like it.

Do you know if that is nicotiana mutabillis or Nicotiana x sanderae?

MissS, it is mutabilis. It is pretty easy to spot the eggs, surprisingly.

I do grow mutabilis. It is beautiful and the birds do use it on occasion. Not a top tier attractor but they will use it from time to time. It is just gorgeous at the back of the garden so I wouldn't care if the birds used it or not. Last year I had it mixed with salvia Van Houttei and it was just stunning. Everyone admired it.

This is a dwarf variety.

I found the first black swallowtail caterpillar out there today, on my parsley - not where I wanted it, so I moved it to one of the dills, which I planted for them! I have at least 15 dills; actually more, as there are 2 or 3 in most of the plantings.

Skyscraper Orange salvia, Mystic Spires salvia, Vermillionaire cuphea, Bat-faced cuphea in pot, and a hanging basket of Honeybells cuphea. Somewhere in there is blue Porterweed.

I envy you your Honeybells. I bought two with that label that have turned out to be..... David Verity? So much more stretched out than vermillionaire. Oh well. Hummies don't care about labels. They like the flowers anyway.

Black swallowtail on pentas.

The pentas and Gold Star Esperanza are getting a lot of activity this year on the hummingbird fall migration. I put pentas everywhere. The bird on the feeder was shot through the kitchen window.

The Orange Skyscraper salvia is looking good.
