Our first frost should be in the morning.

Right now, it's 54 degrees F., very windy (enough to blow my hat off), and sunny.

It is pretty late for us not to see a frost of any kind - we did have a couple of frost warnings that didn't deliver. But no doubt about it the weather has turned cool. Highs this week won't exceed 50 F. Lots of showers.

After some needed rain a few days last week, it will be low 80's all this week, low 60's at night. This is good for the green beans I started picking two days ago. That means two weeks of picking ahead and they''ll probably be done before Mr. Frosty pays a first call. However, next week highs will drop to the low 70's and nights will slip to mid 50's Still no frost forecasted but we'll most likely get a small touch of it before the end of October.

A little nicer here today - yesterday was so humid that I did little outside, and late in the afternoon I had to put on my AC for a few hours, to suck the moisture out of the air, not because it was hot! Today, by noon the humidity was much better, a little warmer - about 72° - and it was very breezy, and later on I went outside and got some work done. Later, the sun was actually visible - first time in a number of days! Still overcast for a while, and getting hotter this week, up in the 80s.

Up and down in a typical spring pattern here in S.E. Oz. Forecast is for about 2 inches of rain over the next four days. Ugly looking weather system in the Great Australian Bight heading our way. Further up the coast ot would probably turn into a cyclone

Summer conditions currently with high dew points (77 degrees F) and air temperature at 78 degrees as of 0730. Cold front due later this week that will bring down the dew points and air temperatures by 30 and 15-20 degrees respectively that will be followed by another warming trend. All of the above is Standard early Autumn weather here on the Texas Gulf Coast.

Fixing to get busy with putting in a fall garden. Okra, I’m letting multiple pods dry out on the plants for seed. Bitter melon still flowering and fruit is setting or maturing. I’m the only one in the family that appreciates that vegetable. Good, more for me.

First major snow storm of the season is headed my way. Brought in a couple of grow bags with Dwarf tomatoes I want to try and save as they are loaded with small tomatoes... Also brought in the Rosemary and may bring in my husbands blueberry. We actually have two storm systems coming through so we have a full week of cold coming. I am ready to let almost everything go except the strawberries (easy to cover) and my lovely dahlias which are covered in buds but have yet to bloom... Can't haul them inside as they are in a 30 gallon grow bag.

It hasn't been below 50 for about 5 months. That ends tonight with temps possibly in the 30's.

Last night it got down to 49°, but it's already down to 47°, dropping maybe a couple more overnight. This will probably be the first night my heater goes on. Tomorrow I'll be trimming my curry tree severely, and taking the extra to my Indian market - he is going to be shocked. Those things really don't like it much below 50°, so I have to make it so I can bring it into my back porch, and eventually, in for the season. But back in the 70s in a few days!

We got our first rain of the season last night. This is a month earlier than last year.

Grasshoppers are practically dormant.

Summer light. Kind of like summer, but less filling. Mid 80 something days, mid upper sixties nights. Planted 80 square feet today with cabbage and kale sets and spinach seeds.

We had nothing but cloudy weather, showers and rain for weeks but finally a day without rain yesterday and today it actually was sunny and over 50 F! Wow! Epic garlic bed prep yesterday and planting today. Mulch coming up the next day that it doesn't rain.. not tomorrow!
I just wish for another day like this, that I could go after some mushrooms because they are loving it! No frost yet even though it's been cool. Mushrooms are busting out even around the house wherever there's a tree close by. I bet there's some good food about.

Some really nasty weather in Queensland this last 24 hours, with hail upto 16 cm, about 6.5 inches, in diameter being reported. @Volvo, did any of this come near you or your family

It's been sunny with nice temps in the low 80's after a few nice days of 70's from that front that came through, Dry. We need rain.

There's still no first frost in sight as the lowest low forecasted for the next ten days is 51. Some years we get a small taste of frost right about now but this isn't one of those years. Historically we do usually get the first killing frost within the first 8-10 days of November. We'll see.

i cannot remember a year since i have been living in da U.P these past 23 years where we have gone this far into october, and not had a frost. yesterday was sunny, and near 70 degrees. that might be our last really nice day. highs won't be getting out of the low 50s the next few days, and lows will be in the mid 30s, getting ever so close to freezing. i picked any tomatoes, and peppers that were worth picking. my son, and i ripped out tomato plants, removed the posts, and tomato cages today so i can get the area prepped for garlic planting. it may need to be a quick turn around.
tractor will get an oil change, and lube, truck will get checked out, and make sure everything is set for winter.
time to get the wood stove fired up.

@Tormato , those would be bush beans, Provider. I usually do Contenders but decided to try Providers this fall since they also are a quick crop. They're making nice beans but I just have a feeling that the Contenders produce slightly more so I'll be switching back.

Usually we can the spring beans and use the fall ones for fresh eating. I think next year we're going to swap that around because the fall beans are pretty for a lot longer time due to less insect pressure. The two spring bean rows will also be staggered a bit more to extend picking.

It's raining! I'm happy. There was pretty much drought forecasted for most of the fall/winter, so, that's in part why I'm excited.

The trees still have lots of leaves,so that may be a problem.
We did need the rain,but not all at once please.
