Purple, ugh

I know now to take my time to avoid the trap of dual/triple category or use words, but this Connection version today seemed to be an easier puzzle than average. Connections reminds me of the game show “Jeopardy”. Celebrity Jeopardy is by far the easiest of the versions of that game show, Student and Teacher week versions are sort of in the middle, regular Jeopardy is pretty hard. The masters of Jeopardy, Tournament of Champions, is horrible.

I wonder if there are different authors of Connections daily or how the NYT generates the daily puzzles? There does seem to be quite some variation on how difficult the puzzles end up being. Anything with groupings of modern culture, entertainment, music, etc., though, is automatically difficult for me. I’m definitely not up on modern entertainment and music.

I found it difficult today. I guessed the categories, but couldn't pick the right words for them ?!?!?

I was so sure I had the yellow. No doubt in my mind.
