Re: How's your weather?
hah, half the holidays here are white.
often times halloween, usually thanksgiving, always christmas, and new years, usually easter.
there have been snow showers the week of memorial day in the past, but usually by then the snow
is gone except for north shading areas. no snow 4th of july, but have a sweater handy just in case.

Re: How's your weather?
Last and maybe only one in recorded history true white Christmas we had here in my home county was in 2004. Some areas got up to 13 inches of snow. My folks got 8. I lived in New England at the time, but came home to SE Texas the day after Christmas to the snow.
Christmas 2021 high is forecast to be 80 degrees. White hot Christmas this year.

Last night was my coldest so far this season, since early March - 26°. And at 10 am there was still frost all over, and still just under freezing, and staying well under average. I haven't checked my plants yet - most are resistant to low 20s, so should be ok. Temps will be rising again - 55° by Christmas!

Re: How's your weather?
Highs in the 60's this past week turned to 40's yesterday and today but by next week they'll be back to the low 70's. This is what drives cauliflower plants nuts and makes them hard to grow for me.They like steady cool temps. Spring swings are even worse so that's why I shifted to growing them only in the fall. Right now the heads are forming so we'll see. I'm still trying to decide if I want to continue to fool with them.

Re: How's your weather?
We've had a few days of cool weather and I was hoping for a slightly extended period of cool temps to push some fruit trees into dormancy but we're back to warm again tomorrow. High on Christmas predicted to be 85 with a low of 68 and upper 70s/low 80s highs for the next 10 days.

Re: How's your weather?
Wow it's cold here. The ice is so hard. You can't chip it. Way off normals for the time of year, which would be highs of 2C above freezing. This has been the condition for over a week. Windchills in the -15C ballpark every day. It's like late January or February but just a skim of snow on the ground.

Intermittent rain for the past week or two, and much more in the forecast. It’s lovely to hear raindrops drumming on the roof early in the morning. I have lots of natives to plant this winter, but waiting for a slight break in the rain.

It was 32 this morning, rising to 66 this afternoon but it's to warm up starting tomorrow with a 46 low and a mostly sunny 71 high. Definitely not a Christmas as depicted on so many snow-filled Christmas cards. LOL!

Sunny air temperature 73 degrees at 0930. Dew point 64. High air temperature Heading for 80. Semi-tropical Gulf of Mexico air mass in control and spreading north. No high temperature forecasted to fall below 67 or low temperature to be below 53 until January 8th. 4 days ending up below normal in December 2021, the rest all above normal. 12 days this month will have the overnight low temperature exceed the average high temperature for that day. That’s one warm December for 29 North 95 west.

26 degrees, expecting a high of 32 degrees today and A blanket of new snow on the ground. It should last until Christmas. An uncomon white Christmas for us. Freezing rain tomorrow with a high of 38 degrees so we will see how long it lasts, if it will melt it or just put a layer of ice on top.

Re: How's your weather?
Yesterday it was slightly below average - 41° at 4 pm, but very windy - 18 mph sustained winds, and gusts well into the 30s, so when I went out to harvest a bunch of those greens, I couldn't feel my fingers when I came back in! Supposed to be in the low 50s today, and the wind is pretty much gone. Christmas is supposed to get to 57°, with rain much of the day.

Christmas in my part of Down Under will be partly cloudy and 24C/75F, dropping down to 19C/67F and going upto 31C/88F by this time next week. Not a lot of rain about, could do with a drop or three.

Re: How's your weather?
Yeah but air conditioning on Christmas day!!!!!
What a drag.
As you well know I like colder weather.
Give me something in the 60's at least, but 80's predicted for tomorrow.
I have a ham to bake for crying out loud.
Almost considering a cold ham and cheese sandwich.

Re: How's your weather?
Snow squalls here today with windchills -14 C. Not a day anyone wanted to be out. And it's probably just as well!
Snow and blowing snow expected tomorrow morning but no great amount. More about the blowing.
It's a great time to be going nowhere and I'll take that for what it is
BTW did you know that clothes dry readily at RH 70% ish if the temp is above zero or even close to it with a breeze, but we had 60 kph winds the other day with windchills around -15C and RH of 70% and my laundry still froze like boards and didn't lose a bit of moisture all day.
I could've spared myself the lumber fumbling experience and just hung indoors for that matter. Shheeeeshuadat.
Many's the time I've freeze dried a bit of laundry but I believe it is just a tad too cold for that.
