Not only that, but it's been overcast, and will continue that way through tomorrow a.m., keeping that moisture in the ground.

It sounds like your ground has already thawed. :)

@Tormato; "It sounds like your ground has already thawed."

For the most part, two (2) of the three (3) Garlic beds were frozen solid as early as last Saturday morning.

As of ~ 07:00 p.m. yesterday we'd picked up another 1/2 inch/1.27cms since that first report.

We've been in extreme drought conditions for ~ the last year (this is the 1st month-to-date in surplus) so this is a step in the right direction.

It rained more than that overnight and am waiting for daybreak for this morning's reading.

EDIT: 3/8 inches/.95 cms overnight, with more on the way.

we survived the freezing rain/ sleet/ ice/snow storm.
we didn't get the amount of snow forecast due to most of the precipitation fell as freezing rain.
it was snowing pretty good late last night. the freezing rain coated the branches of the trees, and
whenever i went outside i could hear the clicking and clacking of the branches knocking against each other
from the wind. some branches were down, and we lost power for about three hours.
there was about 3 to 4 inches of snow/ice/slush outside this morning. the tractor is fixed, so i cleared the driveway.
that went better than expected except for busting two shear pins on the blower on an apparently bad part of the drive.
sunny, and in the low 30s today, warm enough to melt the ice on the trees. more snow expected in the next couple days.
temps are going down into the 20s again. typical march weather. spring is trying to come in, and winter doesn't want to let go.

We have a special weather statement issued from the NWS that we almost never get here locally and it’s about the extra low Relative humidity combined with high winds greatly increasing any outdoor fires getting out of control. Most everything is green or greening up, ground is still moist from Tuesday’s rain so it is sort of a weird statement that the NWS issued.

Today is supposed to be 72°, but the high temperatures forecast got bumped up for tomorrow from previous mid 70°s and Saturday to over 80° with lows still in the high 40°s. Extra Dry air heats up and cools down faster I suppose.

Highs is the 70°. Return after Saturday for at least a week. Not much rain in sight.

Yeah I'm at 16% humidity right now.
Its heavenly.
And yes dry air cools faster.
Less mass.

It rained over an inch yesterday, and maybe a quarter of an inch today, on and off. It has stayed around 50° today, getting to around 60° tomorrow, but dropped below freezing Sunday night and Monday night. So I've already drained my outside pipes again!

No predictions of freeze for the next 10 days.
My pepper plants are going in tomorrow.
I figured the bigger tub containers will be a better night time heat sink than the small containers that cool off at night so fast.

Keith your sleet storm is expected to arrive here overnight into tomorrow morning. probably snow first, ice pellets, then freezing rain, and finally rain and highs of up to 9C that is high 40's F in some places.
Birds don't care about the slow spring. Saw ravens this week carrying long straws for the nest. Woodpecker was drilling on my chimney pot this morning. And a small group of white winged crossbills have been around for about a week, they seem to like it and maybe will nest here near the house by the looks of it.

Nice enough and late enough to dig the weeds out of my tub containers and plant my peppers.

We sure didn't get the 8C promised today.... Ice was building most of the day, and finally pushed over freezing but not by much. Last night's snow is fairly intact with a crust... currently 3C with fog. All the days for the next week are above zero though, so rain or shine, spring is coming... some time soon.

@Bower Looks like we got all the warmth...83˚F (28˚C) here today, with the same expected tomorrow. Pretty windy though...big fire is starting up around Boulder, Colorado right now.

Well, it's snowing now, although I only had flurries around here, and it is starting to look sunny again. However, there were some very heavy squalls through the area, causing bad pile-ups in a few places! It's barely above freezing, and getting colder tonight, than last night, and the wind is still very strong. Fortunately, I have nowhere to go, and nothing in the ground that will be bothered by it.

And Thursday it's supposed to get to 76°!

77°, 25° C . Warm and sunny, plenty of a southeast breeze. Go inland 50 miles, 80 km, and it’s well into the 80s. Gulf of Mexico offering some late March benefits…

Another fantastic afternoon for yard work here. Sunshine, no wind, 8C. The ground is only thawed to about the top inch, but I managed to rake some anyway. Bundles of straw coming down for the compost, and the trellises are back up again. Spring is not far...

a beautiful sunny day today, all day long, nary a cloud in the sky.
only thing lacking was heat. it never got much past the low 20s.
there was a bit of a breeze, but the wind gusts died down for a change.
yesterday, strong west winds caused a drift across my road in the usual trouble spot
that looked to be at least a foot deep at its worst. i had my dog out for a walk,
and watched some people in a truck go through the deep spot on purpose just because
they could. i just shook my head and laughed.
it is supposed to get up in the 30s for a few days, and it looks like freezing rain/sleet/snow showers take two
on wednesday. spring comes slow to the copper country.

Very cold, here, with the wind as a bonus. Daily, I'll be looking at the 5 and 10 day forecasts, for when to start a few tomatoes and chitting peas.

Supposed to get to 88° tomorrow. I’ll believe it when I see it. Read where the area had 22 days above 80° in March 1907 with March 29th, 1907 topping out at 89°. We’ve had 17 nighttime lows this March turn out below normal, due to get two more before the month is over.

About 15 cm of snow on the ground this morning and the trees are loaded with crusty weight. I hope to shovel out before it gets above freezing again. This might be the last snow shovel of the season... or maybe not ;).

It's going to be really windy today ahead of that front coming through tomorrow and once it starts, it will be 20-30 mph all day, all night (that's rare) and most of tomorrow. Rain and possible severe storms tomorrow.
