Not used by anyone in the swap, but there is an OPTION of requesting just a couple of wanted tomatoes, peppers, flowers, etc...
As I chop up my tomato plants and discover nematode damage on roots — some of it even in beds where we laboriously chopped up and incorporated a nematode-suppressing cover crop — this option is looking more and more appealing. I’ve found a few nematode- resistant varieties I like, so it will still be a good tomato year if that is all I can grow for a year. Of course I’ll still try to grow other stuff, but this time of year, faced with a rampant tomato jungle to chop up, makes me think of scaling back….

Thanks for the reminder!! I did save a lot of seeds last year. They should be dry by now.

Happy to be back this year. I'm glad you are feeling better, Tormato. What a relief, it definately lifted my spirits. It was a long winter.

Next month, I'll post in spoiler alert forum with non-tomato seeds. I've been diligently saving tomato seeds (mosty Ukranian varieties this year) for give aways at local Master Gardener events. Throwing all of them in a random pile unlabeled to save my sanity. Tomatoes did very well for me in my rural garden, but production was down over 50 percent at the donation garden. WIldfire haze was unbelievable all summer. It is still smoky this weekend.

Hi Gary
I would like to sign up for the 2024 MMMM Swap. This will be my first time to partake in this swap so it's rather exciting.

I am working on my list of what I want to send to your group. I will post it soon. It will most likely be 12-15 varieties

I've been studying your notes and comments on how to send them.

Thank you for hosting it.
Cheers
Darcy Wilki

Hi Gary,
I signed up yesterday, Oct 14th, 24 for the MMMM tomato swap. I forgot to answer the questions you wanted us to post. I am from SE PA, in Lancaster County. My initials for my name are D. W. for Darcy Wilki. This is my first time in this swamp even though I've been a member for over a year.

I'm in the TLC Facebook tomato group called Tomato Lovers Collective and Swap which Lauren Blanchard Zalewski runs. I do believe you will be hit pretty hard with folks from that group joining your tribe.

I plan on mailing in my seeds in Nov 2024 which is almost here... next month.

I am trying to find the page to sign up for the list I have to send to you of what I"m sending your way. Can you or anyone please direct me.

Thank you for hosting this swap.

I need to get my rear in gear and start bagging seed! With all that's happened around here that's the last thing I've been thinking about.

Hello Gary,
I am participating in the swap this year. I am returning seeds from some of the tomatoes that you gave me a couple of years ago. I'm also sending squash, herbs, beans, and flowers. 🍅

Count me in again this year! Planted late, had a drought, then 5" of rain in 3 days. Despite the weather, tomatoes pulled through. We are still eating Crimson Sweet watermelons in October! OH SP M

Tormato wrote: Tue Aug 13, 2024 9:45 am There may be a bunch of new members, here, coming over from a facebook group. So, I'm looking to get a head count, in order to prepare me for this year's swap.

And, a big help would be to list where and who you are, in abbreviations, for me to cross reference against your user name. As an example, I am MA Fi G. Those are abbreviations for state/last name/first name.
I would like to participate as well (for the first time). I already posted in the other two threads (wish list and spoilers), but I thought I should post here as well. I am VA Pr D. Thanks!

Going to the USPS office tomorrow to send this bundle of seeds north.

Remembered to include my wish list. Remembered, after everything was taped and sealed tight, that I hadn’t included any funds for the return trip, but after a little careful surgery the lack of funds issue was corrected.
