Having almost none this year, so nice to see your butterflies.
What plant is the Fritillary feeding on?

That is verbena bonariensis. An annual that the butterflies love. It makes a wonderful light airy filler in the garden. I will be glad to save some seeds for you if you would like some. Oh, I should save some for the MMMM swap too.

I think hummingbirds would like it, too. I had an upright variety of verbena one year they went for. I am sorely tempted by your generous offer of seeds but I am trying to cut back on how much I grow. I'd have to put them into a pot and I want no more of those. Of course, my wants seem to change come Dec/Jan !

Growing Coastal My hummingbirds use verbeana hastata which is an upright perennial native wildflower. It's rather short-lived but re-seeds readily in my garden.

An extremely tall version of salvia 'Lady in Red' that I am working on stabilizing. It grows to about 5' tall. The birds seem to always go to the tallest plants in the garden first, so I really like this one.
