[mention]zendog[/mention] I am going to try them again, this season, though these will be from saved seeds, so I'll have to see what happens. I bagged some stems last year, on both varieties, and saved some seeds this way, but I haven't tested them for germination yet.

How did they taste compared to the large green ones you grow? Just curious, since I usually buy the large smooth green ones when I get them at the store. Thanks.

[mention]zendog[/mention] The white had good flavor, but not as bitter as the green ones, and I didn't even have to blanch them - the usual recommendation for the more bitter varieties, like the spiked Indian varieties.
