Posting photos of tomato seedlings in January should not be permitted! That is cruel and inhumane treatment for we who have 2+ months of winter left. I've only just selected the 2021 varieties a couple days ago. Goal is to get them into their starter packs and into the cold frame by 20 March. Then I can claim almost 20 years of sowing my tomato seeds outside and in the winter.

I agree the photos and posts are giving me a bad case of startitis. BUT my maters and such don't go out until after May 15th and hopefully by June 1st but that is not always possible with our weather. Starting things now would be bad, very bad except maybe I could plant onion seeds... or would it still be too early?

Whopeeeee! Thanks to Spooky Shoe for describing the variety...and thanks to Mike for answering the appeal for JD's Special C-Tex seeds. They have germinated! Now, who should be thanked for making the successful Black Krim/Early Girl cross? harry.

Second up-potting. I tried to bury the stem as much as possible. The seedlings are in clear plastic drinking cups with holes punched in the bottoms. They will be more than ready to go into the ground by March 1st, which is my target planting date.

I started pepper seeds last weekend, so far, germination has been very good. Tomato seeds will hit the dirt in about 2 weeks. Snow White is my Goddaughter's favorite tomato, so I grow it every year...it's a wonderful snacker while piddling around in the Patch!!
