Try playing one after another from the archive list. Mental fatigue eventually sets in and the gears in the brain grind to a halt. One a day might be the right prescription.

SPOILER ALERT!
OK, this one took me a looong time. These are certainly not necessarily words being used on a daily basis. It was in the archives, it was KNOLL. Not only a double letter but how many words do you know that start with KN, lol? I don't know if I have ever heard the word used outside of discussions about the Kennedy assassination. Took me all 6 tries!

Yes! I remember knoll, too but I got it! I missed one this week. I wish we could see the correct answer if we fail. Only one wrong so far!
With some it's just a lucky choice between words that have the same vowel combo but different consonants. Often I get stuck on 4 letter words like boat or coat and can't think of a 5 letter word that fits until later. I'm glad that the current day's word play can be saved for later in the day.

I have not missed one yet but I have only played 13 including what I did in the archives, and sometimes I need all 6 tries. I have lately been trying to start with words that let me use the most vowels in the first 2 tries. I have been starting off with 'faith" and then depending on what I might have to work with I go with 'could' next if I didn't get any letters, or some word using what ever letter(s) I need to use and hopefully at least 2 of the 3 remaining vowels. By the way, if you miss one you can just google "wordle for.." and the date. I forgot one of the words I had already done and found it that way. I wanted to add it to my archive list without doing it a second time.

Good lord, I just started playing the Wordle, lol. I can only play so many games at one time. I like the knock off site that gives the archived words for WORDLE, but I would not say it is so easy I am bored and looking for something more challanging. Some people must be, though. So if you are one of them, pondgardner's link is something to check out!

Well that would be no fun at all, Spookyshoe. You are not playing against anyone else, so what do you have to gain? Certainly not any competitive edge. If I was going to cheat to find the answer I might as well not play at all. You can find the answer any time you want just by googling it. SOMEONE has already solved it and posted it somewhere. I would not see the point. I have only googled one that I had already solved and couldn't remember what it was. But it wasn't hard to find. I have been going backwards in the archive and just finished 1/7. I have had one so far that I was not able to solve. I don't remember googling the answer, but I might go back and find out what the answer was later. That still annoys me, lol. To many possiblities with the last two letters and I just didn't guess the correct one. But then I guessed one on the second try, lol. So occassionally it just comes down to luck.

I approach it a little differently sometimes to see what works better. Today I didn't use the yellow letter I got in the first guess in my second guess because I wanted to just cover all 5 vowels in the first two guesses. Turns out the vowel in the first guess was the only one in the word.

Too bad 'a,e,i,o,u' isn't considered a word but 'adieu' is pretty close.

I used adieu today and only got one.
Because the author is British I thought it might use their spelling, but no, it is American spelling that is used due to the author's living in New York.
