The Papalo is about the most fragile seed that I've ever seen. So, it's kind of spliced between the suggested varieties to save card and the "brick".

I'm not sure they have a policy yet. However, all of the seeds I sent were commercial varieties. Some had seeds I'd saved, others were packages parted out from commercial varieties I'd saved seed from. Since they're just getting started, I hope they're open minded about what they'll accept. I don't tend to give twice to an organization that gives me grief about my donations.

The seed library is just getting started so they don't have a site of their own, no. The launch date is March 4. Here's the link on the New Leaf page. New Leaf does some things well but they're not the greatest when it comes to business matters. They tried for years to open a co-op and to be fair, no one could have tried harder. They sold memberships in advance at nearly $200 each, which I declined. The store never opened and I have no idea what happened to the membership fees. Things they tend to do well involve networking of organizations and the winter farmer's market. But I had to clean out my seed collection anyway thanks to a windfall from this national seed swap I was involved in, so hopefully the seeds I've given will be useful to them.Tormato wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 3:08 pmDoes the library have a website and/or email?JayneR13 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 1:46 pmI'm not sure they have a policy yet. There is a cure.Danny wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 4:59 pm Hi Svalli, I am a seed-a-holic too. I have too much to grow out in my lifetime, yet I order MORE seeds, join a swap, or trade with others. It is an addiction I seem to not really want to break. I sometimes argue with myself, not that that does much good, LOL.
Self " No, don't go and look at that site you read about, you'll buy more seeds."
SAS* " No, I'm not going to buy any seeds **, I just wanna see what that tomato looks like."
Self " You'll look then you'll buy more seeds, stop typing in that url right now !"
SAS " I didn't type it in, I copy and pasted it. Geee whiz, why don't you trust me?"
Self " Because you lie, that is why !"
SAS "Do not" (page is up and SAS is scrolling through pages of seeds...)SAS " See, I am just reading and looking is all."
Self watches for a bit, but then goes to tidy up another area in the brain.
SAS starts putting things in the cart and quickly does the checkout.
Self "Look what you did ! You bought more seeds !"
SAS " But we didn't have these seeds and the pictures were soooo pretty."
Self " We are out of room for seeds, no more seeds !"
Self takes SAS out to the wood shed, but discovers it full of seeds....

Hi Sari. The first thing I thought when I read the first sentence is only 218 varieties sounds like you're just getting started
ut oh....well see, um uh....Another room added on? ( I am trying to look very innocent at the moment, LOL, is it working yet? Would whistling softly help?)Tormato wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 8:30 amThere is a cure.Danny wrote: ↑Wed Feb 08, 2023 4:59 pm Hi Svalli, I am a seed-a-holic too. Is that a new Burpee variety? OP or hybrid?
Should have said it was for wine coolers and a few seeds.Kingbird wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 10:12 am I spent 1200 bucks on a brand spanking new refrigerator. Bring it home and my wife is excited!
Then I begin wheeling it into the garage shop.
Wifey: What are you doing??!??
Me: This is for the seeds! The mini fridge has achieved capacity! Now we can order more seeds!
Wifey rolls eyes and goes back into the house after saying I need help lol
Yep I'm a full fledged seed addict..
