This probably isn't the place for this, but I have a list of needed varieties that I grew this year, and a MUCH longer list of varieties I can grow for next year or beyond.
Would it be best to send those by PM so you can choose, Tormato, or some other way?

For tomatoes to be sent in, I assuming it’s better to send in varieties that were not on the list, or varieties that had a number after it because those varieties were running low? Do I only run the variety by the host if is a large number of seeds for a single variety?
How many people generally sign up for the flower category? I have a lot of natives and unusual flowers but don’t want to submit a log of perennials if there is not a demand.
I am brand new to this, so I am sorry if these questions are answered somewhere but I haven’t seen it.

I'm starting to bag up eventual submissions for this year's MMMM Swap. It looks like the tomato list has not been updated since last fall, so we don't know which varieties are in short supply. That is not a complaint, just an observation, infused with complete support and understanding. Should I just plan to send whatever I have? I know there will be a spoiler alert thread eventually. I'm just sitting around without power, due to recent horrific storms, so thought I would make labels and bag up some seeds.

@Docmom just plan on sending in whatever you have because they all will find homes. The MMMM doesn't just need what is in short supply, it needs lots of packs to keep it going. I always say "The more packs the merrier!"
PS - Not all of us post on the Spoiler Alert so it will not be a complete list. It is the Mostly Mystery Mater Mailing and if you put them on the list then you spoil the surprise!

I have to say, both the Spoiler Alert AND the Mostly Mystery Mater Mailing are the best of two worlds! I love looking forward to checking the spoiler alert daily when it's going AND the anticipation of what's going to be a surprise! A big thank you to Tormato for instigating all this!

About the 1st of September is when I start inventorying and editing lists for the next swap. I have also received a few packages, so I will add those to the updated listings. I don't expect many packages until October. And, for the past few years, most arrive in November. For those who wish to ignore the deadline for me receiving seeds, it is roughly November 20th.
I think that the first thing that I will do is make a list of tomato varieties "not really" needed. These will be ones that I have an overabundance of fresh seeds, like Black Cherry.

Huh. I somehow have an over abundance of leftover sun-dried Black Cherry tomatoes from last year. I wonder if there is some correlation.

I look forward to the upcoming seeds needed list. Maybe I’ll have some seeds I can contribute. I did this year save some more seeds than I generally have in past seasons, but will they be on the needs list is the question.

Sorry to ask ; I haven't been keeping up with TJ news , where exactly do I post my edited Final final Swap Wish List ?
On the subject of flowers , this year i grew Benary's Giant Lilac Zinnia , a recipient of the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit. Believe me it takes the cake ! It produced huge fluorescent purple blooms that have lasted fresh looking an incredible length of time. I will start packaging dried seeds in a few weeks for the Swap, and when it's a sure thing I'll post all my contributions on the Spoiler Alert.
* I don't know if the collected seeds grow identical plants to the mother when it grew next to an Uproar Rose Zinnia - in any event it should make some nice babies.

Go right ahead and send them all in. I had verticillum wilt hit my beds and I can't send in any of those seeds this year. It's a big loss for the swap. I had some great new varieties too. Sigh...

That would be a helpful list to make, both for you and for those of us sending in stuff.

@Tormato I saw that after I mailed in my package someone posted on their wishlist that they wanted coneflowers. Please let me know if more people wished for coneflowers than what is available. I can mail seeds after the holiday in a small envelope. Thanks!
