I can't taste butter from the store unless I make ghee.
It's a horrible situation.
Totally spoiled from the homemade unpasteurized butter I used to make.

That's no fun. So, unpasteurized butter is really good?

I'm my opinion it is as well as cheese.
No way to explain it or it may just be me getting older.
But I don't think so.
I was raised on whatever no idea whether it was margarine or butter.
But moved to Missouri and had two milk cows.
One in season and one not throughout the year.
That butter was so strong I didn't like it but I learned to like it.
Simply because I had never tasted that flavor before.
Before butter was just an oily salt type stuff.
It really didn't matter whether I liked it or not it was my job to gather the eggs feed the poultry slop the hogs feed the cows and make and mold the butter into 1 pound blocks.
I was in grade school at the time.
My Mom rewarded me with her wonderful food most of the time.
To me heaven would be reliving those years for the rest of eternity.
But with what little wisdom I have now.

I like the slightly funky taste of cultured butter, but regular butter is good too.
