I have been using them for years along with plastic blind slats. I use cattle panels on 3 ft wide raised beds for trellises. Wally World has them in the craft section. Extra long marker with a hole in one end and zip tied to the top of the cattle panel works great for me. The only drawback is applying too much paint to the markers. It will run.

I have had them last several years, most of the time they are in the shade because my tomatoes are up past the top of the panel and hanging back down. Brenda changes blinds all the time so I have plenty of markers available.

I got some of those silver "Overseas paint pens" from Amazon this year, and it worked great, for marking those seedling pots. The marking is a little wide, but ok for most of the pots - the small, 72/tray I just use numbers or letters, and have a paper with the names of the plants, with the numbers or letters next to them.
