That salvia is gorgeous. I do hope that I can find one locally when the weather warms up. (It snowed this morning.) And you have a great eye Donna to find the remains of that chrysalis.

You've probably checked out the Mojave Series. In addition to the red and white bicolor, there's a purple, a salmon, a white, and a blazing red. I'm not a great seed saver but I could try saving seeds.

I am aware of this series of salvia. While beautiful, it is not supposed to be very hummer friendly so I have not even looked into it too hard yet. That one is sure a looker though it would be great attracting birds and a treat for my eyes.

This barred owl was keeping watch over my garden this morning. Good thing as I’ve lost a few peppers to some unknown varmints. The Carolina Wrens nesting in my garage let me know about the owl, making their owl warning cry. Mr. or Ms. owl then changed perches for a more peaceful locale.

We have an owl and a frog...and now we have this in the backyard. It was probably hunting the fish in our tiny pond.

I live around a lot of water and see aquatic birds and lots of pelicans almost everyday.

Some tomatoes look more interesting than others even when they are little.

I’m fascinated by the little folds and rises on some of these varieties, not so smooth like some others.

None that I could detect. A nice scent would be an over the top bonus.

Who knew how much fun cucumbers are to grow? I didn’t. I didn’t particularly like cucumbers, but I really like these.

Today’s pickings and there’s plenty more coming.
Planted one type of seed or so I thought, garden Sweet burpless, but seem to have two types growing, a longer, knobby variety and the smooth and short one. Both are good, we just peel off the skin on the knobby ones. I bought the seed from the feed store and they have bulk bins of seed so that might account for the variety.
