Re: How's your weather?
It's that wet here that even the snails are climbing plants looking for a dry spot. Rivers are in flood all around, with repeated flood warnings issued by BOM. Fortunately we will now have about a wee without much rain so that everything can settle.
Very difficult to get ground ready for planting, going to be another late start to the season here in wozland.

Re: How's your weather?
Sorry the folks in some areas are getting rough weather, but here today, it is lovely. A light breeze and warm but not at all hot, still shorts and tee shirt weather. We are short of water, but still better than the last drought period. A day pretty enough to make you want to grab a partner and do big sweeping waltz steps outside.

Re: How's your weather?
We may see our first flakes of snow tomorrow morning, but the day after we're back to above normal and the weather man says it's going to continue, above normal temps right through november.
@Whwoz I read an article about the 'triple la Nina', where they mentioned two other such events - one in the mid 70's, the other was turn of the century years. Both of which I remember but especially the one that ended 2001. We had 2 mild winters in a row and then we had 6 months of winter with 20 feet of snow in that 3rd nina year.
Sorry to hear it's so soggy for you!

Re: How's your weather?
@Cornelius_Gotchberg , yes this country is better known for being dry, but it is a land of extremes, with droughts often broken by flooding rain and bushfires in some areas.
@Bower that 20 feet of snow sounds like a great place to visit for a day or two, but not to have visit me. Here's to a more normal winter for you this to time around.
Just gets to be very annoying when you can't even mow grass with a push mower without getting even the smallest one bogged. As for planting vegetables, some may happen, but only if everything is pregerminated in pots so that the seed does not rot.

Re: How's your weather?
A bit Warmer than typical for November for the next few days with high temperatures bumping into the low 80s. However, the rest of November outlook here looks like sweet spot gardening weather. Lots of highs in 70s and lows in the 50s forecasted for the bulk of the month, with no plunges into near freezing temperatures in the outlook. Should keep most everything out there in the beds growing well and reasonably happy. I might have timed my plantings pretty well for this fall, all things considered.

Re: How's your weather?
We've been having lows in the 60's and highs mid 70's. Right about now we should be getting the first killing frost as we've already had the first light frost right on time in October. The new forecast calls for rain Thursday and Friday and then the lows drop to 38, highs mid 50's for four days. But now that there might be tropical stuff headed up the coast soon I kind of doubt those lows, at least for now. We'll see.

Today should be the 5th day in a row for mid 70s weather, with tomorrow back to normal.

Re: How's your weather?
after that early october snow storm, we had a stretch of indian summer weather. had one day last week, it might of hit 70.
that is all over i'm afraid to say. now we are having the gales of november. there were a few very rainy days, but temps will be
dropping into the low 30s with 20s over night. yep snow, will be falling this week end. no idea how much, too early for an accurate
if there is such a thing forecast. truck, and tractor were fired up. i will be getting additional diesel storage containers, and fuel before
week end if i can afford it. (kidding, but have you seen the price of diesel?) wood supply is good. we are about ready for winter.

Re: How's your weather?
Until a month ago it was 90F+ during the day. Now it's in the 50s and 60s during the day, and we're coming up on 30s at night later in the week! At least we're finally getting some rain. We had a big rain in mid-September (earlier than usual) and it's raining now. I turned the heat on in the house for the first time at the end of last week. We generally keep it at 68F in the winter.

Re: How's your weather?
Getting colder now, after a week of well over average temps, including some records broken. It got to over 60°, which it wasn't supposed to today, but it is already down to 49°, and 39° is the forecast low tonight. Since it will get close to freezing in about a week, I have to turn my valve off to outside, and go out soon and open the faucets and drain my pipes. Nothing I really need water for anymore.

Re: How's your weather?
I just rolled and put away my hoses on the weekend past, that is months later than usually necessary.
It's been very windy for a couple of days - gusting 90 kph yesterday - and today is our coldest yet, with a forecast high just 37F and a 30F frost tonight. For the rest of the week we'll be right on the seasonal normals or average, with highs in the 40's and 30's lows.
We are expecting some TS Nicole effects on the weekend, but not sure yet what that will be!

Re: How's your weather?
Haven’t seen my garden in a week, but it’s been unseasonably warm at home while I’ve been gone so either everything thing will be dried to a crisp and burned up or growing like crazy. Sounds like there’s been enough moisture to keep most things happy.
Big change on tap for the weekend. A week of Daytime highs in the low 80s will become a week of highs in the 60s. I’ll get some garlic planted soon with the downward trend in temperatures. Should be good weather for carrot seeding.
It’s been beautiful weather here in northern New Mexico with highs the last few days in the 50s and abundant sunshine. The weather here is about to take a nose dive into single digits and the teens at night. I should be back home by then.

Re: How's your weather?
We're waiting to see what TS Nicole's going to do. I sure hope we get some rain out of it. The local weather dude says rain Thursday afternoon through Friday. Maybe 1-3" with winds 35-40. Then a cold front comes in behind it. Morning lows Sunday through Wednesday between 30-34 before moderating to 40's. I need to plan some covering of some recently planted stuff.

Re: How's your weather?
IDK how our friends fared in Florida? But Nicole is set to merge with a low from the west, and we're in for a wet and gusty weekend.
Our temperatures have dropped firmly into the seasonal averages, that is highs in the low 40's and lows in the 30's including some freezes. Even Nicole is only pushing the temperature up to near 50F for a brief time in the middle of the night, so we don't actually get to enjoy that (unless you're out in the gale in the middle of the night.
Maybe a nice moment for the wild things out there. )

44°, 7°C here this morning. Week looks even cooler than originally forecast with lots of 40s and 50s. Monday looks wet. A week like this will cool off the Gulf of Mexico enough so when warmer weather returns it won’t be quite so warm as before. We can likely say goodbye to anything touching 80° until next March.

It shouldn't be anything severe. Frankie MacDonald isn't reporting in.Bower wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 7:19 am IDK how our friends fared in Florida? But Nicole is set to merge with a low from the west, and we're in for a wet and gusty weekend.

Re: How's your weather?
I was looking at the US National Weather Service (NWS) radar this morning, for when it was going to clear out, here. I clicked on the size reduction tab too many times and wound up with Nova Scotia in the picture. What happens quite often is that the large overlapping radar circles get cut off, this time in half, right over Sidney, Frankie's home town. No radar east of that, but it sure looks like the big storm was heading your way.
