Had burgers for lunch, a couple of quarter pounders. Time to try the Cherokee purple that's ripe. It was delicious, and when finished I wanted more. Not the burger, just the tomato, didn't need the burger at all....

CP is an excellent tomato that is hard to beat for flavor. I just wish that it was more reliable and productive.

I had one a few years ago that had a ton of tomatoes on it.
Probably the best year ever for tomatoes of any kind.

@worth1 I still have a half a dozen more ripening, they are my number two taster after fred limbaugh potato top.

The dolly parton continue to grow weight without any sign of blushing yet. They might yet be the biggest tomato.

Took lots of chillies last night and made up a Thai green curry paste. In the freezer now, mouth watering just thinking about using some.

A couple of the cherokee purple calling me..most are 5/6 oz and fairly uniform. The one on the left 10oz.

First San marzano ... all very late..

Tasmanian chocolate...think i'!! Keep the middle ones seeds separate.

Bit of a harvest today... The San marzano had to be brought in as the plant has suffered from last night's wind and rain...

So the orange Minsk is looking good..there are plenty more on the vine but they won't ripen with the weather we have coming up so they need to come in..
And I have a blushing Dolly Parton (never knew she would ever be embarrassed). There are more still on the vine which I'll leave for the moment.
Lots more stupice (very prolific), my cross (very prolific) and a few other varieties but sadly they look like they must come off the vine to ripen. Ho hum, British weather and such a poor spring and early summer.

Pomplemouse de grand pere has thrown a couple of large fruits and the atomic grape is still looking good.

Dolly was 10 oz and considering the conditions i am very pleased. I reckon next year we could boost this a bit...

The storms and high winds are coming and temperatures are dropping. So, I've had to pick what I can and try to ripen indoors. Dolly's safe in the greenhouse with the F2's and some more CP and Black Triefel.....

I've left the plants with some small fruits, in case they pull through the next week but finally looks like this year is over for the tomatoes, at least outside.

And the biggest tomato so far is the pomplemouse at 12oz.

Orange Minsk heart. Not very juicy, very few seeds, but lovely and meaty and fruity flesh, thin skin.

I ripened some greens in a 1020 tray with paper laid over them this year, but I thought they didn't stay as juicy or ripen as well as the ones I put in paper bags. Maybe a little short of ethylene. What do you do with yours?

@Bower I will use a ripening banana and also distribute some semi-ripe tomatoes amongst them. They are in three trays covered with Hessian cloth in the spare room.

That's about how much a grapefruit weighs.

@Shule I know the blackbirds stole some of the labels but I am certain it's not a grapefruit.....it didn't come with a glace cherry so it definitely wasn't.

Dolly has turned into quite a lovely looking pink.....
One day it will just be another colour....
