Good morning, it is 59 degrees out this morning, 4 mph winds, 66% humidity and our high will be 74 degrees. Another beautiful day.

@Rockporter I do not pre-soak pole beans or bush beans and never have. Soil in the beds was fairly moist, but not wet. I generally stick my finger in to judge the amount of moisture. I believe I watered the soil one time before the beans came up. Soil is mostly clay with a decent amount of mostly rotted leaf litter, cole crop leaves and other organic matter worked it. There might have been a few worm castings tossed in to boot. I fork it all in prior to planting and it’s pretty fluffy (if I tried to walk on it, I’d sink in two or three inches).
The native soil here in my yard is a clay with some fine silt in the mix. We are fortunate as other parts of the area have only the very heavy black, but poorly drained clay. Our native soil drains pretty well and is pretty fertile. The raised beds are built right on the soil. Some of the garden is raised bed and some right in the ground. As long as I continue to work in leaves and other composted plant debris, the soil stays pretty fluffy and retains moisture well without staying soggy. In my experience, Seems like beans are pretty agreeable to having oak and other hardwoods leaf litter worked in. Beans, in my experience, don’t like drying out at all, especially as the weather heats up.

I got over an inch of rain in that storm, and it is 50°, but very windy - over 20 mph sustained winds, and 30-40 mph gusts, some areas even more. Not a day I would be doing much outside, even if it wasn't muddy!

Thanks, we are all sand here until we get to about 3 feet down. This is all landfill they put in to raise us up out of the swamp. I am really glad we are the highest in the neighborhood because when there is flooding the end of the street is loaded with water and we sit high and dry. I have been keeping those containers watered, I do have some things in the front of them planted so I have made sure to water the whole container so the mix would stay moist. I'll plant out some seeds when the sun decides to go behind some clouds or in the morning. I have never soaked bush beans either but I have never planted pole beans and thought I would see if it would make a difference.

Good afternoon, it is currently 76 degrees Feels like 81 degrees and a wind speed of 15 mph. Seems like the feels like is going to be more prominent from here on out. The shed was 84 degrees in there even with a fan so I turned on the a/c very low to get the temp down a little but it still says 83 degrees, lol. I guess I have to close the window if I want it to lower the temps in there but I like having the fresh air in there too, or maybe I just turned it on too low. I don't know it is all an experiment right now. :0

Typical March weather here. On the menu today: rain, freezing rain, snow, ice pellets, fog. A smorgasbord of wet. Temperature near zero C.
This february was the coldest month we've seen since february 1997.

Gray clouds, thunder rolling, rain off and on for most of the day and currently. We need the water as usual. Nice enough temps and the wind is normal for us.

It's 11:52 pm and it is still 72 degrees out. Aye Aye Aye, the heat is coming and staying.

This morning we had clear skies and temperature outside was -20°C/-4°F, which is the coldest we have had this winter. Forecast for the next couple of weeks is colder than normal and temperature will stay well under freezing until April. It seems that this warmer than average winter will end with really cold weather and a lot of snow.

71° here at 6am. We, like you, are getting that flow from the deep tropical part of the Gulf of Mexico. There’s evidently a front with drier air stalled not too far north and west of us. Some drier air is supposed to filter in here tonight and into tomorrow and then by Monday we are getting a significant cool down that is forecast to hang around for a while.

That is good to know, it's 11:11 am and it is 75 degrees out now.

~7"/17.78 cms of snow overnight.
As luck would have it, preliminary indoor planting for Jardín del Gotch commences later in the day!

We hit 84 two days ago but rain is coming in and taking us back to more seasonal higs of 60's and lows of 40's. However there's a chance of frost next Wednesday morning with a predicted low of 30. A lot can happen between now and then but some of the newly planted things will get covered. Old Man Winter isn't done with us yet.
A new Southern Oscillation update from NOAA in my e-mail this morning:
" Synopsis: La Niña has ended and ENSO-neutral conditions are expected to continue through the Northern Hemisphere spring and early summer 2023. ...However, it is possible that strong warming near South America may portend a more rapid evolution toward El Niño and will be closely monitored."

@GoDawgs 30° is annoying, just cold enough to cause problems for tender plants. Looks like cold air heading your way early next week is mostly going off to our north and east. Our low Tuesday and Wednesday morning are supposed to be 48° and 49°. We are forecast to get a reinforcing cool down at the end of next week, but with similar low temperatures of 48° or 49°.

It's 74 degrees with a feels like of 75 degrees with wind gusts of 5 mph, so not too bad even with a 90% humidity level. We'll have a high of 80 and a low of 69 today. Not bad weather. I see us cooling off a bit next week in the high 60's and mid 70's and a slight chance of rain.

As I always say, this is crazy weather here. After January and February were second warmest on record, March is very cool, though I will consider myself lucky that this rain I'm getting now it not snow! This is why I wasn't starting anything early, except for some direct seeded brassicas a while back.

Warm morning at 71°. Next 14 days show overnight lows around 60°as the rule, with a couple nights into the 40s. Getting dry around here, but dry is manageable, especially this time of year. High temperatures look to be in the mid-70s for the foreseeable future. The continued relatively good tomato weather holds.

It's 39 here right now and in a few minutes the sun will top the trees so that's as low as we'll get this morning. However they're forecasting lows for Tuesday thru Friday mornings at 35, 30, 34, 39.
Dang it, I have plants to set out. They're hardened off and I'm really torn between putting them out today and covering the bed or just holding off until next Friday. By then the plants will be getting big. Decisions, decisions.... any input?
