Today, around 5 pm, I thought I was in Florida, when I was thinking of going outside, since it had finally cleared up, and gotten sunny, but it was raining harder than it had these last two days! However, it only rained .01" extra, to .51", as it stopped fairly quickly. This evening it started up again, and it's still raining, up to .87" for today. Thunder in the distance, but that can change.
UD - at 11 pm my rain total is up to 2.37", in addition to the .37" yesterday. The most rain I've gotten all year!

I have some grinding and welding to do and I need the burn ban over with.
The welding isn't a big deal because the TIG welder doesn't create sparks but the grinder sure does.

The rainfall total got to 3.44", after .31" overnight, so this is definitely the most rain in this area all year - more than double the 1.47", back in July. Still only 74° at nearly noon, but the dewpoint is 71°, so almost everything is still like it just rained on it! And absolutely no wind, so it's still disgusting out there, just for a few minutes!

66° here when I got up, but the main thing was that the humidity finally lifted! I think it was a 53° dewpoint. Even late last night, the dew was building up on the cars, but it was gone early this morning. Only supposed to get to 77°, and the humidity staying low for a week or so. Also, a nice breeze, which we haven't had for a while - just dead, or a storm!

Lee will soon be steaming past you @pepperhead212 so maybe that will stir a breeze. Could be stormy in Massachusetts and Maine. Landfall is expected in Nova Scotia on Saturday morning as a TS close to Cat 1. Sweeping up into Labrador and west coast of NL but no impact in my area except some ordinary level of wind and rain.
Glad to see this big boy didn't bite land as a powerhouse further south, but sorry to see the strike on NS - they've had an awful year of it already with fire and then floods. Hope it's not too bad. Apparently there are no high tides coincident to contend with, so the surge shouldn't be as bad as Fiona.

That was a really nice rain no idea how much but a lot.
It saved my boxwood and a few other plants that were suffering.
It was so dry the cast iron plants were looking bad.

Still hear the heavy artillery firing off rounds in the battle of the great heatwave and drought of 2023.
By devil it's another rainstorm coming through.
Full steam ahead boys and damn the torpedoes.

We got a like 0.02" of rain last night. I planted my 3 Momma Mia peppers and 3 Ichiban eggplant as couple days ago since the weatherman said it would be cloudy and rainy for the next 4-5 days. Nope. Sunny and 96 degrees yesterday and today and my poor plants look fried. Maybe they will survive.

Airport 3 miles away says we got almost an inch of rain from 5 pm to 8 . That seems very high, but I have not checked my gauge. We did get some rain, plus some thunder and a lot of wind, a very cool wind, felt like fall. One more chance of rain tomorrow.

The drizzle here has been relentless all week, with very little actual rain but very warm, with nighttime lows running close to normal highs. Humidex into the high 20's C/ 80's F.

Post Tropical Storm Lee went pretty much directly over this buoy on Georges Bank. Max winds of 58 kts. Max wave height just shy of 30 feet.
These post tropical storms really spread out their windfield, but lose intensity around the core. Still very windy over the buoy even though LEE is 200 km to the north now.
In local weather, we didn’t get near the rain that the airport 3 miles away got. .92” there, maybe .15” here. More chances today.

Gorgeous day today, only 72° at 1 pm, and getting maybe to 77°, with dewpoints in the 40s, and breezy. I wish there was more to do out there, as nice as it is!

Our heat index was higher than yours today @karstopography 88F by midday. Some really good showers early in the morning, sun and cloud and a beautiful breeze in the afternoon. I got laundry out on the line but also planted strawberries into my harvested garlic beds. Now or never come what may.

Kinda sorta weather related.
The HEB in Bastrop is ripping out or covering up the grass islands in the parking lot.
They're covering them with small round river rocks in the middle and larger ones around the edges.
No more dead grass and dirt.
I see the reason but the rocks might end up all over the parking lot.
There might also be sprained ankles from people stepping on them.
If a car tire runs over one just right it'll launch like a cannon ball in the middle of a crowded parking lot possibly killing someone.
One island had a one foot deep hole in it from cars running over the island all the time.
So bad cars would bottom out.
It wasn't thought out well because you had to make a wide turn like a truck to get into that parking lane.
You couldn't do this if cars were coming towards you.
Well anyway the islands now have the rock desert look instead of dead grass and dirt.
