I am glad to see it. We only are overlapping with our variety- Vezunchik, That means lots of more rare varieties for the Tribute

A question, do you think your Volvo Serdtse is the same as one I have Volovo Srce?

A question, do you think your Volvo Serdtse is the same as one I have Volovo Srce?

Волове Сердце = Volove Serdtse or Ox Heart. It looks like the variety you have was just transliterated differently. It's a rather ubiquitous E. European variety that's been around for a long time, so the strain you have may or may not be identical. This one came from a different Ukrainian vendor and is a large, red heart.

Tatiana listed some of the master list varieties (which was very helpful, thank you) as Russian origin, and wonder if there are others that qualify as being grown all over the region. Some are on the list and others are not. I still have an envelope of similar name varieties to research, and hopefully others will chime in with additions or edits to the list.

I mentioned this project to a friend who offered to contact the local Eastern European churches to see if they know of any family having heirloom seeds and is willing to discuss or share a little further down the road. She will likely offer her assistance too. Remarked how she was sitting on her couch and watching the terrible situations unfold and now has some direction to begin helping in a small way.

QUESTION: Are coin envelopes OK for this swap or are plastic zip-top bags preferred/required? I personally use coin envelops and have them on hand but can buy plastic bags if needed. Thanks.
