Based on your handle and location, guessing this is an area of expertise.
Not really, but geology was my minor at Texas, not that I ever did anything geology related for a living like find a seam of gold or some reservoir of hydrocarbons.
My great aunt’s husband was a petroleum geologist way back when, in the permian basin no less. That worked out very well for him as he took percentages of what he found in perpetuity. That branch of the family never will have to work again, although they do.

You knew exactly what I was thinking. Well, I wasn’t speculating about your level of financial achievement. My parents both worked for oil companies at certain points. A lot of the people who got in those companies early did very well, apparently.

If you don't have a pH test strip, you can get a ballpark on the pH easily with a bit of red cabbage or blueberries.
To test your water, pour boiling water over some chopped red cabbage. If the water is acid, you will see red pigment in the water, but if it's alkaline the antho from the cabbage will turn blue.
There's a rough pH scale with colors from cabbage given here:

Another option is vinegar on the soil..if it foams your soil is alkaline.
My raised bed soil foamed big time.
If a mixture of baking soda and water makes it foam it's acidic.
