Thanks for reminding me that I need to pick up the larges flat rate box at the post office.

While packages really start rolling in, and I begin updating all of the Master Lists, I will be selecting things to put in the box. Will it fill early, will it fill late? I don't know. Will really interesting/rare seeds come in late? I don't know. The absolute latest that I hope to send it out is the first day the post office is open after 1/1/25.

Another call to EBTKS swap participants for what to include in the box, beyond tomatoes, peppers and beans.

At the MMMM sub-forum, the first thread at the top, the Master List non-tomatoes/peppers/beans thread will give ideas about what types (not varieties) of veggie/fruit/flower seeds to ask to be included. As for varieties, those lists are well outdated, and many may no longer be available.

And, the current pepper inventory is nearly out, so it is up to what comes in this year, for a wide selection.

It has been a long time since I participated in a Round Robin trade. They are fun to do, so count me in.

It looks like it will go out just before the new year. I've finished packing tomatoes and peppers, while simultaneously inventorying those seeds on the MMMM Master Lists. The box is already a bit more than half filled.

From my end it, is going to be the LARGE Flat Rate box, about $26 for postage (I think). If the contents start to get reduced during the swap, perhaps a smaller box can then be used.

I'll have to post the order of participants signing up, in a couple of days. IF there are a few from far southern states, I may request from the other participants whether it is OK to move them towards the front of the order.

Participants, in order of signing up...

1 habitat-gardenrer
2 Old chef
3 ranegrow
4 MelinKS
5 midwestfarmwife
6 Leighamarie
7 trecchi
8 mamadisalvo
? Ken4230

For now, mamadisalvo is the last "known" participant. People can still sign up, although it would likely be about a 7, or more, week wait, from the current mid-April.

I'm in CA and am thinking any seeds I found in the box would be for fall or next year, so I don't necessarily need to be higher on the list.
The main constraint is to not get the box when it's HOT. So no later than, say, May 1.

I'm still dizzy from inventorying the Eastern European category. So, to answer your question, nyet.

Excitement might come to a few people early next week. Excitement for most will be after Christmas, when the Post Office waiting lines get much shorter.

Well that didn't work, ha! I'm still exited... Eastern European category must be huge and that's what I'm waiting for!

All participants, please PM me your mailing addresses. I have no idea if all are also in the MMMM swap. And, I don't have the time to search through 100+ MMMM participants, cross referencing you with your usernames, to find your addresses.

With a current 18 participants, if the package is sent back out every 7 days to the next participant, the 18th participant should get the package at about the end of April beginning of May. If it takes 10 days, the last participant would receive it about the end of June.

It looks like there are only a couple of people from California and Florida, so, I'll likely move them to the front of the line. If anyone wants to be last, they get to hold, and go through, the package as long as they want. There is no need to send it back to me. Just wait until someone else signs up.
Hi Gary, I PM'ed my address to you. Also, (unrelated) I sent the Secret Santa Swap address list to your email a few days ago. Did you receive it ? I apologize to everyone who also got the PM asking about this ? I guess I am PM challenged LOL not sure why a PM would have a " send to everyone on the forum " feature ... lol (that I obviously missed) :(

As Homer Simpson would say, Doh!

I didn't think of tagging participants, so that they would see the message.

Marisolstice is taken care of, as she contacted me with her mailing address. She is also the only one to be moved up in the order, to #1. The package should be going out to her on Monday (about 2 weeks late), as everything is packed except flowers.

This side project has helped in organizing things, although it has taken up a bit of time. I've learned that flowers, other than marigolds, sunflowers and zinnias, will always be a bogged-down mess. And, that sending in single packs (other than that which is on wish lists), also slows things down considerably. I'll come up with any rule changes for the next swap.

I do not want to include a mailing list of all participants in the package, as some may have privacy issues. But, each participant does need to know the mailing address of the next participant to send to. So, I will work that out with each sender and sendee.

The EBTKS swap has only one rule - one piece of chocolate per person. ;)

Hopefully it helped you to get addresses from everyone to move it along. When I come to the forum I always select new unread posts and unfortunately this sub forum never showed itself for me there. I was just being nosey to see where we were at with things.

Sorry for the extra time, but thankful for your efforts. Thank you.

"It" went out yesterday. Marisolstice/FL Go S will be the first to receive it, as she is the only southerner who said it's OK to be moved up on the list. Expected delivery is Saturday.

I'm using a Large Flat Rate Box, Priority Mail (NOT Express Mail), $26 for postage. A Large Flat Rate Box (free at your post office) will likely be needed for the first several participants. I have no idea if contents (other than chocolate) will be reduced as it goes from participant to participant. Almost all seed varieties have between 1 and 3 packs of each variety. There are about 7 (loose) inches of seeds squeezed into about a 6 inch deep box. So, when cutting it open, only go through the tape and no deeper. It might open somewhat like a Jack-In-The-Box. Seed packs are grouped in categories, each category in a larger zip baggie. When resealing the larger baggies, most of the air must be squeezed out, or it ain't all going back in. I used about 5 layers of heavy duty clear packing tape to seal it. The inside bottom is reinforced with duct tape.

I have not been able to contact ken4230, 1st on the list. Reading his profile, he has not posted since November, and he is 77.

Colcol2, 2nd on the list, will receive it next. I will PM marisolstice the mailing address.

Got the box on Sat., and it is one mind blowing package of seeds
I only had time to glance through it and am looking forward to browsing tomorrow. I did enjoy the chocolate ration  what a great addition!
Thanks for doing this. It's super fun.
