[mention]Barb_FL[/mention] , you hit it on the nose yes another big reason we have more rats this year is cuz our next door neighbor has these small palms & the rats were eating the seeds & pooping all over our patio. I talked to the man & he is vigilantly cutting all flowers now. It's amazing how much rats can poop!
Now that they have no more palm seeds, I'm afraid they will eat more from my yard. I created an enclosure for my peas but worried they will somehow dig underground to get in

Your garden looks like it's recovered nicely from the flood. Everything looks so green and healthy, beautiful plants.
We have a feral black cat that we feed and my husband built him a shelter.

Elaine - Your tomato plants have certainly bounced back. I'm so happy for you. What type is that with all the tomatoes?

We've had really cold weather with lots of nights in the 40s since December which has been wonderful for lettuce and broccoli.

I first grew it years ago as it was described as a Japanese-style tomato and I liked Momotaro. ( Though last season I was disappointed with Momotaro for the first time after growing for years. Hopefully just a fluke. )
Tomi. Muchoo has phenomenal production as it is a greenhouse variety. I liked it but never went crazy over its flavor. But still Looking forward to trying it again.

[mention]MsCowpea[/mention] have you ever tried Odoriko? Although not as productive as Momo, for me, it comes in a close second in terms of flavor.
I've had a couple years where Momo disappointed too, but then they would bounce back the following year.
Momotaro comes in several varieties in Japan as some of you probably know. Kitazawa Seeds has 4. I don't have a greenhouse so I'm content with just growing the classic:

I did try odoriko and a few others from Kitazawa several years back. Still Preferred Momotaro. I have always loved that tomato ( grown organically). It was probably overwatered. Also the plant just didn’t do all that well from the get go which is unusual.
And temps can go to high 40s to low 50s at night. Dark at 6.

New to me: Roman Warrior ( store bought flavor ) but very prolific , Brandywise, Verona , Italian Heirloom

Some didn’t get labeled. One brought to house and told it was from one of the buckets , wrote bucket on it but decided not to try and figure it out.



This Purple Brandy is super tall. There are hidden tomatoes in that foliage.
My celery this year is so much better than last year. Tastes delicious. Grew my own transplants with help from the internet. Never had success doing that before - always bought them if I saw them in store which was a rare occurrence. They loved all the rain.

Mom and 4 ‘babies’ still together. Usually their numbers dwindle when they are small but these all survived. I recently saw another fox late at night but peacocks roost up somewhere high.

Just picked More celery which is all organically grown.

I have never seen such beautiful celery come from a home garden. It is just gorgeous!
It is so nice to see how your garden has done such an amazing rebound after your torrential rains. You sure do have a green thumb and obviously are a very dedicated gardener.

I do have a question for you though. I have never heard of "Brandywise" it has been repeated so I doubt that it is a typo. Can you tell me a little more about it?

Brandywise was developed at Cornell University.
I wanted to try it because it mentioned a tolerance to early blight. Havent formed an opinion about it yet. It was a tough year due to all the
flooding.

Shishito peppers. I tried blistering them in a bit of olive oil with sea salt. Tried them green and red (red were sweeter.) Just not my cup of tea. Thin-skinned bag of seeds-no heat. Super productive—got a boatload.

Your tomatoes are very pretty; no splitting at all. Who would have thought that you would have such a harvest after such a terrible start with all the flooding. Nicely done.
