Hail with diameters of 2 - 3 inches + possibility for wind speeds of up to 60 mph. Right now it looks like I might get lucky but it's too soon to say that for sure.
I'll probably move the potted plants into the barn tomorrow...
Turned out to be nothing serious. I'm not complaining though :)

28C/82F by my back door today; 38.8C/101F in the greenhouse.
So outdoor is great for tomatoes, I only have a couple plants so far and thinking of putting them out, even if we do have some cooler nights ahead in the 40's. Maybe pot them up tomorrow.
Meanwhile what about greenhouse crops. What crops are happy at 100F? I have seed for some dwarf corn types I could plant in the big fish tubs. I have a pole bean from the swap, are they good with hot?

Warm nice weather right now, had rain in the early hours and predicted for more rain later in the evening. Sunny and currently at 82F. Breezes are light.

Urban sounds of summer, children playing and lawnmowers growling.

Rain, rain, more rain. I had to plow, till, wet.
No choice, my ground hasn't been dry since last year.
I planted most things in 1 1/2 -to 2 " clods.
I added dry topsoil to every hole. I'm going to plant beans, corn, but going to add dirt. I have never seen it this bad. I live in South Central Kentucky.

Pretty nice here actually! Rains twice a week or so and temps in the 70s. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is affecting the air quality however. Sensitive groups have been told to limit time outdoors for the past week. The Moderate level today is actually a break! Good day to go outside and weed.

Humid for here, humidity is typically lower here in north Texas, with all the rain days we have had, but the plants are loving it so I can be happy about that. More rain is predicted, but some things are going in anyhow, so if it does rain more, it'll be plant, plant, fill, duck for cover and next let up, repeat. Both drinking water lakes are at or slightly over 100%, so that is another good thing.

It is a bit of a confusing year, climate wise, but I'll try to roll with what Nature is giving me to work with this year. Got 3 little kiddie type pools to put my grow bags in to take advantage of free watering. I'll pull some of the prettier looking half whiskey barrels in front and the kiddie pools behind some of them so it looks better. Going to also try some watercress in the pools around the growbags and a few feeder type goldfish to eat up any skeeter eggs or larva.

So far, a good weather wise start to June without really punishing heat yet. Some 90's, but tolerable for the most part. Big ol' smile for the year so far.

We were the recipients of two small pop up rain events this afternoon. Although they were short and sweet they dumped their loads all at once and we ended up with 1". I didn't have to water the corn this afternoon!

Very humid and I'm starting to catch sight of a little powdery mildew. I put out some Serenade last week but this evening I spied a slight bit starting on one of the spaghetti squash plants. Tomorrow I'll switch up to another fungicide.

Last evening and into the wee hours of this morning a line of storms kind of freight trained over us and this morning there was another 3.3" in the gauge. I bet the young corn is flat on the ground again and I hope the pole bean quad- and tri-pods are still standing. I need to secure those today. They're heavy with foliage and flowers and ready to make.

Rainy and cool, much like last year! While this saves on the water bill, the plants can be a bit stunted. Sigh.

Couple of hazy days here, highs in the low 80's. The moon was red last night and shaped like an egg. And the sun was like a huge red blister going down.

Tomorrow is supposed to get less humid, for just one day, and even though up to around 85°, won't feel as bad as these last couple of days. Today, the rain stopped by noon, and when everything was dry by 4 pm or so, is when I got to work. Thursday is the day it is supposed to be the worst here, up to 90° or more, and humidity up again. But, they've forecast 90° a couple of days, and it hasn't happened yet.

Over 2.5” of rain has fallen since early in the morning. Still raining moderately. There’s a flash flood warning for our area, but we don’t have the terrain for true and sudden flash flooding. We have the type that where the low places will accumulate a lot of water and then people will drive into the low places and get into trouble.

Only garden semi-casualty is see is my Pineapple tomato. Pineapple is very top heavy and with the addition of the rain the supports tilted over somewhat. I added another support and righted the ship.

High overcast and humidity, no rain yet today. Supposed to , heavy on the supposed, to maybe rain after 3 pm. . We shall see if Mother Nature is reading the news.

Looks like the storm system karstopography is having has a chance to wander this way, which would be nice. Save me from watering again. But then, wind and rain are fickle creatures here in Texas, so it is always a guess. Have a hose to use if need be, been hand watering with a garden can but it is becoming not enough or too many trips as things get going along.

we had three days of steady rain here ending a couple days ago, so the ground is still moist.
we needed it. now its a race to get everything weeded, so i can get the planting done. it has
been on the cool side. temps are only in the 50s and 60s for highs, and dropping into the 40s
over night. that is not warm enough for planting beans, and other warm weather crops that need
warmer weather to germinate. we need some heat.

air quality has been poor, and hazy due to forest fires. canada, and minnesota have been burning.
west/northwest winds have been blowing particulate matter our way.

REAL summer is here. First heat wave now. I can handle dry heat, but I can't resist AC anymore............
