Seeds and Such Free Shipping on orders >$30 and an additional 25% off on orders >$50. from 2/21/25 to 2/23/25 at 11:59 PM EST

This is bit of a rant. I usually don’t buy seeds on sale unless there’s also free shipping, since I don’t really “need” so many seeds and it’s a good way to set boundaries.

But I did fall for the recent $1-3 per pack sale from Harris Seeds, and because my order was between $10 and $30, I paid the $8.99 shipping fee (plus a few dollars of tax, even though, at least in California, edibles and seeds for edibles are not taxed). Shipping was fairly fast, ordered 5/13 and received 5/19. But the seeds arrived in a small, thin, plastic shipping envelope. NO PADDED MAILER FOR SEEDS!!!! Despite the exorbitant (to my frugal sensibilities) shipping fee. I was shocked, shocked! It’s 88F here and a padded mailer might have offered a bit of protection from the heat.

As long as the seeds actually grow, I guess it was a good deal. The invoice was wrapped around the seed packs, so there was some attempt to shield them from the journey. But no padded envelope ,,, I thought that was a given for shipping seeds.

Botanical Interests is having a sale, and free shipping if over 30 bucks. Some good stuff there.

They only ship to 48 of the 50 states. Pretty poor for 2025. Not that it matters to the vast majority on here but there are one or two of us.

I wonder why the restriction? If there is something you want, I would ship it on to you. Never thought about the restrictions, sorry.

You sure? So,some good deals there and it's no trouble. Just take a bit longer to get to you.
