@Tormato
I think it's about time they put The bridge on the river Kwai back on for our annual dose of all things English.
I bet it's free in a couple of months.
I'm watching The Great Escape now for free.
The Great Escape came up in my youtube feed several days ago. I watched it about 6 months ago, so I'll pass this time. And, about 1 movie a week is all I'm up for.

I'm starting to see things in these old movies that I don't think existed during the times the movie is supposed to depict.
One is a bow saw with a metal frame carried by one of the Russians.
Did they have that in 1944?
The movie was made in 63.
Another was Lodge cornbread molds in the shape of corn cobs in the movie support your local sheriff.
This is in a part where he is in the hardware store.
Lodge didn't make that item until many years later.
In a famous Western I can't remember the name of they had a loading ramp for cattle at a corral in the middle of nowhere.
No railroad for a hundred miles.

Has anyone seen the movie Snowpiercer?
I haven't seen it in some time now.
It's a fantastic movie about the last of humanity on a train that never stops and circles the frozen earth continually.
The high class up front poor class in the back.

Dances with Wolves
At just over 3 hours long, it was a 2-nighter, for me, to watch.

I watched it maybe 1 time completely.
Since then I couldn't keep my mind from drifting off some place else.
Not that it's a bad movie, I'm just that way some of the time.
Last night I watched Hannibal Rising for the second time.
Even then I was cooking and had to back up several times.
At least I wasn't cooking cheek meat and mushrooms.

I tried to watch The Omen the other night.
What a totally lame movie.
I can't believe that movie scared the devil out of me back in the 70's.
Back then I believed in all manner of supernatural stuff including ghosts and all the psychic abilities hogwash.
Even that TV show The sixth sense.
Chariots of the God's and so on.
People bending metal with their minds.
It was all the rage back then.
Now that I don't believe in any of this stuff these movies just don't do anything for me.
I still like a good vampire movie or book though.

I also watched a movie called The burning plain.
The reason I watched it was because of the actors in it.
The film got horrible reviews and bouncing back and forth in time confused people.
It's a movie that requires thought.
Not something that seems to be popular these days.
In my opinion a really good movie about life in general.

A few days ago, I watched Joe Versus the Volcano. I didn't know that Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan could make a bad movie.
Then the computer recommended You've Got Mail, which was pretty good.

The Vicar of Dibley series on Tubi free streaming. My gosh, those Brits are so funny! A lot of the political and cultural digs go over my head since I'm not familiar with the names, but the cast of characters is hilarious. No, no, no, no, no, no, yesss! We turn on the CC captions on Tubi since my hubs has trouble with British accents.
