I've enjoyed your posts and pictures all season! Going to give Cuostralee a try next season. What was your runner up for the season?

Well, the only other reds I grew were first timers Amish Paste and Mountaineer Delight. They each held their own for what they are, but they are not big sandwich slicers. Sweet ozark orange was up to par, that is still producing as well and makes good sandwiches, just different. Stump was reliably good tasting and that Rozny..oh boy...Rozoye Kranzy. Krupne. I seriously just want to say rozny krazny... That one was right up with stump for taste and maybe even better looking. I haven't seen a black from tula ripe for a while, they may be done.

I couldn't name a second place between SOO and those two pinks. For simplicity I'd rather grow just one pink but might make an exception next year. A grow out ratio of 4/2/2/1 for Cuostralee, Sweet Ozark Orange, Stump/RK, and Black From Tula would work well.
Rosvye Krupne
Rosvye Krupne
Rosvye Krupne
Ros K. I'll try to lock that in my head, Ros K.

LOL I was just looking over this thread to find that name again...I forgot about the dogs eating all those tomatoes off the table. Seems to me they ate 5 or 6 from there, the ones that could be reached. Leaving the tray on the table with just 3 tomatoes set back in the center of the table. Had to be the white one. The girl would have pulled the whole tray down, the white one is more worried about making noise, he still thinks of himself as the little guy and tries to sneak stuff and then gobbles if he is noticed. He really ruined the rest of that EML/AGP taste off, but most of those EML were still first truss at that time. Unfortunately almost all fruit from those two types, the last couple weeks, have bottom rot of some sort.

Looking at the pics of Yak's AGPs, I don't remember ever getting AGP that lobed out like that. I first grew AGP during my first year at the comm garden, 2017 I think, two of four plants in a short florida weave. I can picture them in the corner row to the southwest of two lithium sunsets. They did okay, but were rather more round, about the same shape as this year.

I'd like to try Sweet Ozark Orange and R.K. next year too, but I have Daniel Burson already for a newbie and Cuostralee. Might have to pick one or the other of SOO and RK. I do love having a good yellow/orange tomato in my mix. I used to grow Orange Minsk, which I loved, but failed to save my own seed and then my good seed ran out. I tried the Orange Minsk Heart but it wasn't productive enough.

I actually had some decent tomatoes this week...SOO and Cuostralee. But I think they must be done, now. I think...for a few weeks before this I started making fresh salsa. Wow that was some good stuff. I never feel like making it in the summer. I still have some in the fridge and I think it is probably past due but I'm thinking about it...

Yeah I've had some pretty good tomatoes this week also. Dester, Rebel Yell, Polish and Brandywine. Took all my plants down 2 days ago except Rebel Yell and Brandywine which still have some fruit ripening. We may have a frost in the next week and I'll pick the balance of the half ripe tomatoes.

Yeah I saw Tues or Wed morning for here, 25F. But it is days off and pretty local centric here with hill and dale. Leaves coming down fast off our maple tree, started 2 days back and half gone already.

According to our 7 day forecast Wed. night is showing 31F. I should be able to pick a couple each of Rebel Yell and Cowlick's Tues. afternoon. I've got 6 or 7 on the kitchen counter getting ready to eat soon. I had a couple today and they were pretty good. "All good things must end".

Accuweather has the forecast for Madison, OH at 25° up from 22° earlier today. The Weather Channel has the same time frame at 33°. They can’t both be correct, I hope the weather channel’s version prevails.

It got to 84° in my back today, but 63° is the forecast high tomorrow, and 54° for Halloween! And later in the week, Wednesday night or Thursday night, 33° for a low. Which is why I harvested most of my peppers today - not much time left for them!

I’ve got some peppers still going. I’m not sure why. I’m halfheartedly drying some ripe ones outside when the weather permits, will they get dry or rot first, I know not and don’t really care. I picked a couple of green bell peppers tonight to slice and cook with potatoes and onions, that was nice. Most of the peppers aren’t getting used at all. I want to remove the plants, but have been doing so much heavy physical work lately I don’t have the energy. A freeze would decide the issue, but we aren’t forecast to get a freeze just yet.

I vacuum bagged and froze a bunch of Hatch mild and Giuseppe peppers today. I'll pick the remaining Anaheim peppers tomorrow then I'm done.

Yeah I guess the taste-off is over for the year. I need to get in all my peppers, dig potatoes, cover the cole crops with AG19, and get the sweet potatoes out of the car. They should be cured.

Picked the remaining Anaheim peppers and 3-4 tomatoes today. My season is done except for my lettuce which I should have for a couple more weeks yet.
