I have the complete Beatles catalog in mono and stereo.
Same here plus 500+ Beatlegs. I had to stop, the urge to collect was out of control

I remember it was December 8th and Monday night football was going on in my brothers house I don't watch football so I was out in my Chevy Blazer listening to the radio when they announced John Lennon was assassinated in New York.
I always had smoke on hand and a bottle of Jack Daniels.
Not being one to totally agree with his politics but respected his contributions to Rock and roll.
And respected his beliefs.
It was a horrible loss.
Not something I normally do when someone passes away but I rolled up one lit it and proceeded to get stoned drink whiskey and cry myself dry.
Only two other musicians deaths effected me this way.
Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries and David Bowie.
Seems like a thousand years ago now.
I was only 21 at the time.

I only get slightly saddened by most musician's (where I like their music) deaths. That's because most have lived a fairly long life. It just seems that most of the young ones who died, I wasn't into their music to begin with. But, the biggest reason for only a slight sadness is that their music "lives" on. It's hard to get sad when the music continues to make you happy.

Chris Squire (bassist) and Alan White (drums/percussion) from Yes, saddened me the most when hearing of their passing. Members of Yes have a connection to Bowie (keyboardist Rick Wakeman played on his biggest hits), and Lennon (Alan White played with him (if I remember correctly, and this just turned 65 year old isn't having a senior moment).

I don't know what the devil is the matter with me.
I can't hardly listen to the music my wife and I loved so much without breaking out in tears.
Not even around people and stone cold sober.
I guess I'll go to my grave this way.

It's not what is the matter with you, it's what is right with you.

You loved your wife.

The ridiculous is underrepresented in music, thank goodness for Willie Nelson!

Story has it...
The song was based on a true story where he had a shoot out with his son in-law over beating his daughter.

I remember when this song called for lighting up a big fatty and passing it around in the living room with the stereo turned up full blast.
Good times.
