Sunroots in the shade

So, last year, someone transplanted a sunroot plant (a fairly late transplant from a nearby garden location) into a very shaded area. There's a wooden fence to its south and a huge shed to its west, with the house to its northeast. So, it gets northern and eastern sun (which translates to shadows being on it whenever I look at it, pretty much). I'm sure it's sunny in the morning.

Anyway, the results are very promising. The plant developed lots of tubers, including large ones, and despite harvesting some in the winter and digging up some recently, there are more growing that I missed.

So, it looks like these could be great for shady gardens where you don't know what to plant.

These were from seed-grown wild sunroots where I purchased the seeds from a Kansas wildflower store (the same place where Joseph Lofthouse got his that he used to breed with domestic ones).

The particular plant transplanted was from a plant that was known to get long tubers in a sunny location.
