I had a packet of flowers for part shade, which I scattered in February. Now I've got small poppies blooming. These are real papavers, from the looks of them. The flowers are about 1 1/2-2" across, pink, peach, & red. The seed packet had both annuals & perennials. What is the likelihood these are perennial?

Sadly none. What you are growing are the annual Papaver rhoeas, which I love. They are so frilly and dainty and the bees adore them. The perennials in your packet are most likely coreopsis and rudbeckia with maybe some columbine and lupin mixed in. I have never seen a mix with oriental poppies (perennial) in them.

Well, I hope they re-seed, then. They're cheerful and adorable.

A friend has has the Iceland poppy in front of her house growing in soil that is like concrete. She has dug up a lot of it and gave me one, a bright orange, that I am happy to have. Will find a suitably harsh place to plant it!
That dark orange one is a nice colour.
