73°, sunny, blowing pretty good out of the northwest. Pretty perfect. Everything is intensely green now with spring in full swing.

Re: How's your weather?
It rained just over 4" here - it was raining at 5:30 am, when I woke up briefly, and finally stopped shortly after 3 pm. I put my straight sided bucket out in the open, in my garden, and it caught about 4 1/8" - almost everywhere around was over 3", at least, with many higher. Very windy again, and same tomorrow, but cooler - only 51°, while today was 57°, which is a little above avg. Tonight and tomorrow night are the last two around freezing, and each day getting a little warmer. Not as many rainy days as they were originally predicting, but then, I don't worry about these things until I'm planting the tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers out there, and I haven't even planted the seeds yet! Almost time, however...

I'm still debating whether to get the onions in again...this is the part of starting plants that I despise. It sure did rain a lot, but I forgot to get the gauges out in time. A little too windy and grey after it rained to be pleasant, but still nice to be out in the garden.

Got to 77° yesterday with all day sunshine. 60° was the low overnight. Another sunny day for Sunday at 73°. Highs in the seventies all week, lows mostly in the 50s. One brief shot at a little rain on Monday, otherwise sun all week. Good weather for a garden.

Re: How's your weather?
about 30 degrees outside right now. very light snow at the moment, but we are supposed to get
some where between 6 to 9 inches of wet heavy snow between now and monday morning. after that
the temp rises to the upper 30s tuesday, and its gonna start raining. NOT looking forward to that.
fueled up the tractor yesterday, truck is warming up right now to make sure it would start.

Re: How's your weather?
You know the drill, Keith, snow into rain... clear it before it changes eh.
We haven't had enough rain to really beat back the snowbanks yet, although they've shrunk probably a foot or more on the view from my back door to the clothesline. Just not quite where I want it to be.
Tomorrow we won't get above freezing and the night drops to -9C / 15F. But after that, up up and away, double digits C/ over 50F highs on the weekend with rain to boot, that will be so welcome and will take the snow down in a hurry.

Re: How's your weather?
After all that rain yesterday, there were hardly any clouds in the sky today, though it took quite a while for the wind to die down. It was still colder than average - barely got to 50° - and I waited until about 3:30 pm to go out for very long. Another below freezing night forecast, and still below average tomorrow, but then slowly going up, later in the week...along with more rain.

Currently 66, cloudy, breezy and humid. Rain will set in later this afternoon not that we need anymore. I'm already finding white moldy places including some on the roots of a White Icicle Radish I pulled today.

Re: How's your weather?
It's 46 here at 10:30am with a biting wind from the northeast at 6mph frequently gusting to 15 mph. I went out back to fill a window box with potting soil I keep out there. By the time I finished my hands felt like they were half frozen!
Not to worry, "they" say. Heading back to 60's and 70's this week with 70's and 80's high next week. At least the nematodes are still asleep for now.

I don't see any more freezing lows in the forecast, with the lowest being 36°, and getting higher, though the highs are still below average, until at least Friday. I turned the water back on out there, since the pipes won't freeze, but still have to watch for that. Rain forecast for Wednesday into Thursday.

Re: How's your weather?
Can being in cold, wet weather cause one to become sick?
I got caught in that ugly weekend storm, with my umbrella breaking on me. The following day, I became sick, with a sore throat, and an off and on uncontrollable cough. It was my first sore throat in more than a decade. No OTC meds in the house, so I tried tea with lemon and honey, which gave me some instant relief, but nothing more. Reading up on it, it appears that a lowered body temperature can suppress one's immune system. So, it does appear to be possible to catch a cold, or more, from others, from being out in such weather.
That's my story, and I'm going to sick with it.

Re: How's your weather?
Seems like rather recently the main of the medical professionals begrudgingly decided getting chilled could possibly lead to getting sick after being against the idea for most of eternity.
I operate with the idea that getting chilled even for a moment can and usually will lead to getting one of the seasonal sickness like a cold or the flu. Since for the last few years I have been being very vigilant and successful about not getting chilled, even for a moment, I haven’t gotten any colds, flus, or the dreaded C***d. I realize one doesn’t necessarily lead to the other, but it certainly doesn’t hurt me to avoid getting a chill. If it’s cold out, I automatically bundle up, overkill it.
I do know in the past before following the do-not-get-chilled-plan I would often get sick after being chilled.

Dang man, it's called a cold!? I always thought that was the exact reason. "oh my you're all wet, you'll catch your death of cold."
Hope you feel better. Wear wool, cotton kills!

48° out there at 5:00. Wonder if that will be our last foray into the 40s until fall? Tomorrow morning is forecasted to be 50° so maybe not. 72° was the high yesterday and 69° is the forecast for today.
I’m enjoying the cool and relatively dry air. Getting lots done out on the lot. Time to trim the yaupon holly and delightful weather to do it in. Should be done with that task today.
Going to wait on direct seeding any okra until things get more consistently warm.

Re: How's your weather?
Our third day in a row of beautiful clear blue skies and sunshine all day long. Cold nights but days above zero. Snowbanks like rocks you can walk right over them. Knee deep still and will be treacherous when it gets a bit warmer. Hung my towels sideways yesterday and they dried perfectly even though there's no wind to speak of.
