Dittos here too about the Rosella and more thanks to Marsha for the seed. The search for a favorite cherry tomato is officially over! Sweet and a tad tart at the same time with wonderfully deep tomato flavor. Ahhhh!

I didn't have room for Rosella this season, but I agree that the taste is excellent!

The year that I grew it, I compared it to Carbon Copy. At first Rosella was the best, but later in the season I felt that CC tasted better.

Rosella is new for me this year. It was the first to set tomatoes but still waiting for them to ripen. Can’t wait as am always looking for really good new cherries! Sounds wonderful. Haven’t tried Carbon Copy. Maybe should try next year!

Rosella is a wonderful cherry and very pretty, too! Carbon Copy is larger and very tasty but splits too much for me.

I thought the same thing about Carbon Copy. It split a lot!

Funny isn't it. Splitting would drive me nuts and neither Sungold nor CC split for me. Now that I've said that, they probably WILL split this season {LOL}.

I tasted my first Rosella tomatoes. today. They've got a cool, refreshing taste, as opposed to a warm inviting taste. Quite sweet. There's a tomatoey aftertaste but it takes a while after eating it for me to notice it (it kind of snuck up on me in a subtle fashion). Very good, but different than I might have expected. The most similar tomato in taste that I know offhand is Maglia Rosa, but it's different.

Here are the fruits I sampled:

They look perfect, and for sure they are a sweet cherry. I am one who likes a sweet tomato, even though there's a good bit of acid to balance. If you're a high acid, not sweet tomato lover, this might not be the one for you.

I like variety, and it's a good one (the fruits were kind of shaded by foliage of other plants, which grew about twice as big as expected, too; so, I imagine it could taste even better). I'll probably grow it again. It's a different kind of sweet tomato than I might have expected (I didn't mean to express disappointment), but it's still a great tomato. Sweet tomatoes are awesome. I like most tomato profiles. Acidic is generally a favorite, but not always.

Acidic tomatoes are some of the hardest to find; so, that's another reason I look for them a lot.

Different, but as good. Not as crunchy as Black Cherry. Smaller more abundant fruit too.

The taste of my Rosella cherries has sweetened further, and it has a mild fruity taste, too. A relative who tried them today seemed to like them quite a bit.

I finally got to tasting this variety last week, I planted seeds end of March but not one sprouted. The same happened with Rebel Alliance.
However, a couple of weeks later 1 plant broke surface and since I had no idea what it was I kept it in a pot until mid-july. Rather than throw it away, I put it in a bigger pot outside as I said to myself why not taste it at least. I kept it at a single stem.

This tomato is the best cherry tomato we ever had in the family, hands down. I am so happy I gave it a chance!

Look at these beauties!!!! I can't wait to plant several of these next year, the sweet/tangy/fruity rich taste is just amazing.

I am so glad! Also, Rebel Alliance can easily take 10 days to 2 weeks to germinate. Notoriously slow.
