What is the smallest tomato seed you ever collect ? Mine was Barry's Crazy Cherry.

I don't know, but the Esterina F2 seeds I saved in 2020 were pretty small.

When it comes to bigger tomatoes, the Cherokee Green Pear seeds I saved in 2016 were very small.

Micro dwarf tomatoes have very tiny seeds. I'm growing one variety now.

So far, I've looked though all of the cherries and micros, Barry's Crazy Cherry is the smallest.

I think I once had one smaller, from a supposedly OP SunGold. The tomatoes were red, tart, and smaller than SunGold. Also extremely seedy. I picked about half of them, fermented them, and then estimated that the one plant produced more than 30,000 seeds.

Any micro variety would qualify. Any currant type would be next. Best question may be which is biggest fruit from smallest seed. Japanese Oxheart is one of the smallest but may produce 2# fruit. Hard to imagine such a huge fruit having such tiny seeds.

Paquebot---- I came within a hair of trying Japanese Oxhearts several times. The variety was tossed out of my order basket at that last cut.
Did I miss out on a great tomato ???

Tom, you indeed missed out on a good one. Typical of many oxhearts, Japanese Oxheart behaved well and topped at probably 4'. I would say that there were possibly no more than a dozen fruit per plant but all at least a pound. The biggest weighed in at exactly 32.00 ounces, 2 pounds. Since I offered it on SSE, always worried about how long those tiny seeds would remain viable. Never heard of any germination problems with them.

The question has to be asked. Which tomato had the BIGGEST seeds.....?

The largest I've seen would be from my grandfather's variety the Antonucci Slicer. However, i haven't seen enough varieties yet to say for sure.

Early Girl F1's fruits have pretty big seeds, and there are a number of others (usually salad tomatoes) with seeds about that size. I'm not sure which tomato has the biggest, though, but I'm also interested to hear about it.
