They have just passed a new law. It says private growers can only plant one variety of tomatoes, and only 3 plants. It can be slicer, plum, or cherry. Which variety are you going to grow?
PS-- I think I know the consensus answer. But who knows?  Second place should be interesting also. 

Easy for me. Carmello. Can take and set fruit in a decent amount of cold (for a tomato) making fall crops possible here and then set on up through pretty high heat, extending the spring season. Narrow and tall columnar growth habit, so not a space hog. Indeterminate. 70-75 days, so I don’t have to wait forever to pick fruit. Mid to mid large sized crimson tomatoes that don’t often split or crack and with a nice melting texture that are also sweet and tangy. Good on fighting diseases here plus nematode resistant. Good fresh sliced, on a burger and good frozen and thawed for sauce. Highly productive with 5,6,7 tomato clusters the norm. Resists all the catfacing and ugly fused blossoms.

Not that I’ve grown a ton of varieties, but based on the ones I have Carmello wins and there isn’t a close second.

Karstopography-----Carmello wasn't even a thought in my mind. Totally ignorant about, it until today. Research claims are mighty impressive. High dollar seeds, but I found them at a fair price, at a reputable place. I can't bring another seed in this house this year. But Lord willing-- I will try it in 2022. All the hype about high yields didn't impress me as much as the pictures of it with a small core. Something I look for.

Big Beef is my choice.

Of the limited varieties I have grown, it would be Big Beef. I am going to add Carmello to my list for next year.

That's a toughie. First, I'd have to join the hordes of tomato lovers rioting in the streets in revolt against that law. Then I'd plant Stump of the World, with clusters of large pink beefsteaks, good taste, great productivity, and makes a great fried green tomato. Then I'd surreptitiously grow contraband Sungold in my basement.

My mom would go with Big Beef.

Arhg. Hard one. I use tomatoes more to make sauce and to dehydrate than to eat fresh, so... first choice might be Work Release Paste (not sure if that counts as a slicer?). Second choice would be Principe Borghese.

But ask me in a week or so, and those answers could be different!

I can really be dunce at times. I actually had a variety in mind, that I knew would be the choice--at least I thought?
Instead, I asked the question in stupid way, that forced the consensus answer to be-- "I'll grow the variety I want, no matter what''.

In my climate Dr. Wyche's or Japanese Black Trifele.

Aunt Ginny's Purple, and a loop hole in the law.

Each Aunt Ginny's plant would have a massive amount of Aunt Ginny's grafts onto itself, with each graft also rooted, creating sort of an Aspen effect.

Slicer, cherry and then plum. Or if you would like something a little special sir, would you like to step inside....

I'm trying Japanese Black Trifele for the first time this year.

How come my post got deleted? Am I the only one who sees how ridiculous being able to only grow one variety is. Maybe it's because I asked where the OP lives. You can see in my signature right where I live, so not a big step. The state alone would be fine. No specifics necessary. Just want to make sure I don't move there. The whole world has gone crazy.

If I could only grow 1 variety it would be Momotaro. It grows well for me in my area plus it's just pretty tasty & well balanced.
