In the Tomato Talk forum, someone mentioned a law recently passed that states you are only allowed to grow one variety. Am assuming that it's in the United States somewhere. Just want to make sure I don't move there by accident
Thanks, Ed

Hypothetical questions are fun, no? But, no regime could be so evil to allow only one tomato, could it?

I believe that was a kind of game. IF that should happen, WHAT would you grow? Kind of like if you were on a deserted island what would you take...

Thanks. Ok, I got it. With all the craziness in the world today, I lost my sense of humor. ........although, back during early Covid, some states, Michigan comes to mind, had laws about selling seeds.

That set up is like asking which of my 200 children do I love most. It has been years since I have fallen for that scenario. Fun to see what comes up but after 45 years of growing tomatoes I mostly read the answers and say,"Yeah, that's a good one."

Yes, those seeds get treated like long lost children my wife says. They do get babied. And if I feed them properly, they feed me.

I have heard of similar things when it comes to growing corn... but it was never a law or an ordinance, just a general local community suggestion.
