I started seeds Feb 21

There are these supposed times to start seeds. When is the right time? Well, I thought I had it figured out for my neck of the woods. I was going to plant out on Valentines day. That day was day 4 of below freezing temperatures, ice, freezing rain, and eventually snow, and the news saying electrical blackouts. okay.
Saturday the 20th we finally broke out of the northern weather. I could have started some seeds, but my day was way too long. I needed to take care of 9 days of freezing weather not only what it meant for our home, but two other homes.
Sunday was, do I have to wake up? I live with CRPS/RSD type 2, but I need to be strong for everyone else. It was an extreme pain day but I knew I had to keep going and I did. I got the seeds planted.

The almanac says Feb 21-23 are good planting days for above ground crops. Today I will be starting pepper and eggplant seeds.
Hang in there , Salt!

Salt, I don't know how you keep going, but I'm glad you do. You're in my prayers, as always. What did you plant? Are you talking about the direct seeding such as lettuce, etc? Or tomatoes & peppers, etc.?
I just started peppers, none up yet. Lemongrass has sprouted indoors. Some flower seeds will be started on March 1 & 15, and tomatoes will come along on April 1.

Just tomato and pepper seeds in a seed starting container. I wasn't sure if we would be able to keep the house warm enough with the uncertainty of having electricity.
Nan, thank you. I keep going because it's the right thing to do. It would be so easy to give up, but that's not going to happen.

So far 11 of 12 have sprouted. No true leaves yet. I'm a week behind schedule, but that might help keep them from growing lanky this year - I hope.

I’m going to start mine today or tomorrow. I want to try and plant out by the moon phases, but will see how that works out with my work schedule. Good luck with your grow Salt.

Besides the 100 seeds for my own garden, I planted seeds between 8 and 25 years old to see what comes up and those will be given away when the time is right.

When I turned the lights off tonight, I noticed 4 little Mucho Nacho plants have popped up. 11 days for Jalapeno seeds to germinate - that's about normal. I sure was glad to see them, especially after today.
We finally got to visit the local mom and pop nursery. I asked the lady who owns it if they were going to have tomato and pepper plants this year? She looked so depressed and said to us that if we see a tomato or pepper plant there that we need to buy it asap. She went on to tell us that one of her suppliers lost 40 greenhouses worth of plants due to the 9 days of way below freezing temperatures. 40? I cannot imagine owning that many greenhouses.

Tomorrow is potting up the tomato plants day. I have no doubt that the two Sungold varieties will be ready to plant out by early April. The Porters will take lake longer which works for this climate. That comes from years of experience in my backyard - not something calculated online for a one-size-fits-all type of thing.
