For this year, I expect to plant about 80 indeterminate varieties of tomatoes. So far, I have seedlings at home outside the window, they are not large and I will have them at home for almost a month. I already have a flower bed ready for them in the garden, I had to disinfect the soil with nitrogenous lime, as a prevention against Fusarium, which I brought to the garden from the purchased sowing stock last year. I will grow the following varieties:

Is it youre first year with Mountaineer Pride and Mountaineer Delight?
Do both have the same resistance to blight?

I understood West Virginia 17a probably have ph2 and ph3, west virginia 17b probably only have ph2 and no ph3?

Nowhere have I read that the Montaineer Delight has a different resistance to potato blight than the Mountaineer Pride. In the articles I read, there was no mention at all of the ph2 or ph3 fungal races.

On internet it is dificult to find information.
West Virginia 17A and 17B are from the cross Iron lady x West Virginia 63. Both are homozygous for ph2 so all childeren are homozygous for ph2.
Iron Lady is homozygous for ph3. So there is some change that there is ph3 in the offspring.

I understand from a reliable source that DNA testing by a university has shown that 17A contains ph3 and 17B only contains ph2. You should also see this in the field.

I only assess whether both varieties catch or do not catch potato blight. Only one catches and the other does not, so I can conclude that the other is really resistant to ph3. In fact, I am not even able to determine which race will cause death. Another problem is that not every year tomatoes end up with potato blight for me. It will be interesting.
