Pets Loved and lost.

This is the german shepherd about whom I had to lie and say that I didn't have any cats to get the shelter to adopt her out to me, because everyone knows you can't have a gsd around cats. She and the new kitten are getting along great.

This is the kind of stuff that really ticks me off big time.
I have brought stuff like this up before in the fire code and got looked at like I was crazy.
Trouble maker was one word describing me.
Stirring the pot was another.
Not necessary.
Well it happened.
75 dogs killed in a fire that didn't have to happen just because of fire codes not covering them.
Not after this they are considering changing the code.
Why are people so stupid and why are they in charge?

My potbelly came to me from neighbor who kept him for a family that asked to keep him while they went on vacation to ever return.Was a bathtub baby,went to a empty pool,grew into a full grown boar.Had to move him to our place in the glades.Time caught up.My min pin Mein Shatze Garbo,went about the same time.The porky came in at 400 lbs.His name was no name,thus No Name.

My Queen. She was 14 and just the best girl ever. Lymphoma took her out.

You've been a friend for a long long time.
To have critters is something that a person must simply have.
I don't know what else to say but thanks for sharing.

They are still squabbling over changing rules for animal boarding places after the 75 dogs died from smoke inhalation.
The people making comments on the radio have no clue about fire protection.
If they don't know about fire protection they need to keep their mouths shut
Complaining about added costs is not an option.
If it were people there would be no option.
But since it is animals there seems to be no rules.
This isn't acceptable to me.
It shouldn't be acceptable to anyone.
How about people running these places just do it without being forced to do it.
In my years of being in the fire safety industry I have heard owners complain about the expense of fire protection.
They complain about being forced to put it in.
My reply to them is always the same.
So you don't give a dam about human life.

My product just sits there and does nothing until that one day or night it's needed.
I'm still shaking my head over 75 dogs dieing that didn't have to.

My Good 13 year/7 month/16 day old Golden Girl (Hannah “Hurley” L*****-S*******) collapsed on January/23/2019 during our afternoon walk (burst blood vessel from complications of hemangiosarcoma) and died on our way to the Vet ER.

As usual her timing was superb; 25 minutes earlier and I’d have had to leave her by herself out on the snowy golf course while I went to get my vehicle and she’d have died alone, 25 minutes later and we’d have arrived at the ER, where she would have died anyway but with an accompanying four (4) figure vet bill.

As it played out, I kept my hand on her the whole time so she’d know I was there, but felt her slip away ~ 5 minutes from our destination.

We were inseparable best friends, a team as many observed; never was she so visibly forlorn as when I was miffed, nor so instantaneously ecstatic when that mood passed.

No day will pass when I don’t think about what a great, goofy, forgiving, friendly, fun-loving Girl she was; I still can’t talk, think, or write about it without breaking down.

CG, I'm so sorry you lost her. And I'm glad you were able to be by her side when the time came. I make a promise to all my animals that when that day comes and it's at the vet, I will be right with them scratching their ears and my face will be the last thing they see.

Appreciate the sentiment @GoDawgs; no way around the fact that the price of all that unconditional love and companionship comes due all at once.

Thanks Patti. You are correct. We were fortunate to have him. He was a Blessing ! And yes the house still feels empty without him. Caesar was the best. Thanks for your kindness.
