I have been trying to find a hoverfly larva to photograph but to no avail. Coming in from the garden after harvesting some potatoes and I find one crawling on my hand. :lol:

I think that one is an invasive...

Weird to me how I see the ladybug young and see/think of them as nymphs. But bean beetle young, I correctly identify as larvae. Are the ladybug larvae hairy like bean beetle larvae? Maybe it is because I smoosh hundreds of them each year, they are clearly hairy and soft bodied.

Here are some pictures I hunted down in my files of ladybugs that developed on an infested broad bean plant in 2011 in my garden. It was hard to leave the aphidy bean plant but I did when I saw ladybugs on it to see what would happen. A lady bug farm started up on that plant and I got a good look at what their babies look like. Hasn't happened again since so I'm glad I got to see it in action.
