The first few regular sized tomatoes were ready for tasting yesterday. Honeysweet Savior (Honigsüsse Erlöser) is in the middle, Purple Russian at the top and Early Annie at the bottom.



The Honeysweet Savior is really dense and meaty with a somewhat sweet flavor. I think there are seeds in there somewhere! I'll have to hunt for them when the next one gets ready.



This is the Purple Russian. I was a bit disappointed as it had no real tomatoey flavor. By looking at it one would think it would be rich and wonderful. Not; it's rather bland. It won't be repeated.



Early Annie was grown last year for the first time to see if it could be added to the early lineup. There's nothing special about this one and will be dropped going forward.

That orange one certainly looks the goods. Another one for the wish list that won't happen

Really nice tomatoes, and I'm glad you succeeded with the Honigsüsser Erlöser, think I must grow it again next year.It is indeed a really good tomato.

[mention]Lotte[/mention] , was it just that tomato or are the seed chambers of all the HE's very small and hard to find? Just wondering.

I really can't remember, but you are probably right as I didn't get many tomatoes or seeds.

What is the foliage of HE like? Wispy? Love the color …
