Hope im not going over old ground here but a variety i plan to grow next year is BKX and would like to know how many onboard here have grown it ??.
Difficulties , pests or diseases attracted to this ?? , and Mostly its taste ??.
So many on the wish list to grow i am starting early in organising my list ..

BKX was one of the varieties grown in my mom's garden this year. It was successful, and had little to no pests (granted, her garden had little to no pest pressure this year).

The fruit was abundant and moderately sized about 8-10 oz. They were nicely shaped with no "boats". There was a bit of cracking around the stem.

Taste was traditional and not lacking

I grow BKX every year. I love it! I don't have good luck with Black Krim, but I almost always have success with BKX. And, it's delicious!

If I can find my original seeds from almost 10 years ago, I''ll have to grow out all of them. I grew 2 and they turned out RL. That wasn't all that was different as the fruit was yellow with a pink or red star on the bottom. That was the beginning of Prairie Star. I have grown Black Krim before and never fruit like this.

I've grown it and liked it, but for a purple beefsteak with potato leaves, I still love Big Cheef best.(correct spelling on Cheef)

I have grown it side by side with Black Krim in earthboxes.

I found it out produced regular Black Krim, but the flavor of Black Krim was better. My BKX was more disease prone.

However, I had two different seed sources, and my Black Krim is descended from dry farmed seed.
