What's on your 2022 pepper growlist?

Note: I've been editing this post.

Here's what I planted on the morning of March 18th 2022:

* Canary Bell x 12
* Coral Bell x 9
* Lunchbox Yellow, Orange, and Red x 11 (they're all in a mixed packet; it came with 11 seeds and I planted each seed in its own container; I overseeded the other varieties in this list)
* Quadrato Giallo x 1
* Sunbright x 2
* Big Red x 1

Edit: All my Lunchbox, Coral Bell, and Sunbright peppers died, this year. Same for all but about five of the Canary Bell peppers. (Due to colder than anticipated seed-starting conditions that favored damping off.)

I plan to grow them all with black plastic.

Note: I'm starting over with my peppers this year, with new seed, since one was hot on accident last year (Hungarian Sweet Wax), and I'm looking to breed primarily orange and yellow sweet peppers. So, last year's peppers aren't in the project. No hot peppers, this year, unless you count the bit of heat in Canary Bell when extra ripe.

Im not certain what I'll be growing next year, but I know I'll be growing fewer varieties compared to this season. I really pushed the boundaries of what my space can do, but it was a trial season to gain exposure to more varieties.

Next year Im thinking Hybrid Beefsteaks, Dwarfs of varying kinds, and one good cherry. Then I'll throw a pepper plant or two in there, along with an eggplant for a trial year. I want to try the Aji Charapita Pepper.

I mostly grow tomatoes but wanting to ferment my own hot sauce ( not super hot!) and make pepper powder this year, in addition to adding peppers to my salsas. Fire roasted poblanos are a must for my favourite salsa!

Growing:
Early red Jalepeno
Aleppo
Poblano /Ancho
Sante Fe Grande
Aji Angelo
Aji Fantasy White
Sheeps nose Pimento
LINDY

zone 5
short season, with hot summers, Ontario Canada
Enchanted by colourful vegetables that can be grown in her city backyard, world cuisine, forests and firelight.

Our climate is not very conducive to raising peppers and of course we can only have sweet peppers due to DH's allergies.
One that works for us.
Pretty N Sweet - a hybrid mini bell we have grown the last 3 years, I need new seed for it

New varieties we are trying all from Heritage Seed Market:
Pippin's Golden Honey
Petit Marseillais
Ferenc Tender Paprika
Yummy Orange
Wyoming
Zone 5
Elevation : 6,063 ft
Climate : semi-arid
Avg annual rainfall = 16 inches

Peppi Grande
Carnito Giallo
Glow Orange
Carmen

That's presuming I can find a space for that last one.

I haven't finalized my list yet, and, as usual, the "oldies" list is longer than the new list. First, here's the tried and true:
Oldies
Aji Dulce
Big Jim Numex
Chocolate Habanero
Hanoi Market
Jyoti
Santaka (Thai type, grew a while back)
Superchili
Thai Vesuvius
White Habanero (small variety, might be new)

Newbies:
Aruna
Jalapeño M
Kanthari - white
Kanthari - violet
Kashmiri

Also starting some Red Carolina Reapers for a friend - I got him started gardening 2 seasons ago, and he wanted some reapers his first season, despite my warnings (he was only 18, and wanted the hottest, of course). He only got the chocolate reaper seeds, and they turned out not as hot, though he had a hard time believing me! Last year I started the Death Spirals for superhots, and he grew the plant well over 6' tall, and couldn't believe how many peppers were on them! He still wants to sample the red reapers...so he says. So I'm growing 2 plants - but he's getting both of them! No superhots in my list this year!

Not 100% sure what seeds exactly sprouted, sort of lost track of what is what.
Jimmy Nardello
Greek Pepperocini
Italian Pepperocini
Aji Dulce
Ajvarski
Shishito
Corbaci
Aji Cristal
Large Red Antigua
Biquinho red
These are possibles from seeds planted.

Will pick up some other sets such as jalapeños, serrano and cayenne.

Tentatively:
  • Beaver Dam
    Greygo
    Pizza Pepper
Those three I grow every year in quantity.

Seed crops:
  • Aji Dulce (if the 2015 seed is still viable)
    Aji Cristal
    Alma Paprika
    Cubanelle
    Djuric tomato pepper
    Early Jalapeno
    Pelso
    Pusztagold
    Ralph Thompson's Squash
    Tennessee Cheese
    Thai Mound
Still a work in progress though until I actually start planting (which won't be until late March).

The Mini Olive and Black from Maf have been overwintered in the greenhouse. The Black has been producing a few peppers here and there all winter. The Mini Olive doesn't seem to care for the cooler temps/shorter days and hasn't even bloomed once but otherwise is nice and healthy.

Aji Cachucha Purple Splotch
Baklouti
Biggie Chile Hybrid
Bill's Striped
Black from Maf
Dante F1 (jalapeno)
Dieghito
DK Snacker
Hatch Mild
Madaya
Mini Olive
Prairie Spice
San Ardo
Stavros
Sulu Adana
Yummy Orange

  I actually seem to be getting better at peppers, or maybe just better at picking which ones to grow.

I am excited to have a new variety from Fred hempel called Menkir's Gold.

Golden-Orange sweet pepper developed by Menkir Tamrat, on our farm. Long shape (similar to Jimmy Nardello) and suitable for use as a green frying pepper, a ripe frying pepper and for use raw in salads, etc.

Hopefully next year he will have them in the regular store, did you get those from a "collaborating membership" or kickstarter or sweet-talk?
