Carolina Cross #183 x Moon and Stars F1

I grew Carolina Cross #183 in 2016, as well as Moon and Stars and lots of other kinds of watermelon. I saved seeds from Carolina Cross #183, and grew them in 2017; it was getting a nice fruit, but it got BER. I saved seeds from that and grew them I think in 2020, and they had BER, too, despite being a cross. So, this year, I tried the seeds I saved in 2016 again, and my plant had stars (so I knew exactly what it was: Carolina Cross #183 x Moon and Stars F1). Stars are dominant.
It was in an area with significant morning/afternoon shade, and as usual, it got spider mites. I think the shade helps to explain the improper pollination (pollinators like sun). However, it looks pretty nice anyway. It has stars and stripes.
The taste is excellent. The seeds are still fibrous, but not quite as fibrous as Carolina Cross #183's. The seeds do have decent flavor, though.
My Carolina Cross #183 (from Burpee) had white seeds initially. I'm not sure if it's supposed to have white seeds.
