First Cauliflower Cut

I've been watching the first cauliflower get bigger and decided that today was the day to cut it before it went too far. Variety is 'Amazing' and this one was 7" wide. It felt lighter than store bought ones though. I also got a nice little mess of broccoli side shoots. Packman is a good producer of these and they sure are a good addition to salads. The next cauliflower is getting close too.

Beautiful. Amazing is the only cauliflower that I have grown successfully.

@brownrexx , me too! After trying this and that for years I swore this would be the last variety I'd try! This is the third successful year in a row.I still can't grow it in the spring due to such variable temps but I'm fine with just doing it in the fall. Woo Hoooo! :D

I'm growing Amazing variety of cauliflower this year for the first time. The heads are about the size of a quarter. Broccoli is Green Magic F1, and heads are about softball size. Won't be long.
@GoDawgs I have to grow cauliflower and broccoli in the Fall/Winter as well. Too hot here in the Spring.
Your harvest looks yummy.

@AZGardener , I ordered some Green Magic for the first time to try this spring against Packman, my favorite for years. Can you tell me if GM makes a lot of side shoots as advertised? That's one reason I ordered it as well as the supposed heat tolerance. We'll see if that is true as I'm going to use it as the succession planting to Packman to extend the broccoli harvest.
