What do you think of wool pellets as a soil amendment? See the following link:

If I have time, I'll do some research this spring or summer.

U Vermont did a trial in 2019.

My question would be, does any lanolin (not high concentrations in belly wool? and/or is it pre-washed?) build up in the soil over time, or does it decompose, and if it does build up, would it have any effects on crops, long term?

Not sure but there is a long history of folks using dags for mulch. (Dag = poopy icky sections of the fleece) And I have used a couple of fleeces that were real messes for mulch in the garden. It worked very nicely but it was only used there for a couple of years.

Thanks for the feedback.

@Tormato
I've got time. :) I don't know about the lanolin, but I would guess that lanolin would break down within a couple months under the soil.

@wykvlvr
I didn't know it could be used as mulch. Interesting. Does wind affect it?

not as badly as most other materials in my experience as I was laying out fairly large chunks then wetting them down... they sorta stuck to the ground
