Just found these tucked away and thought someone would find it helpful.

Companion planting to me means that after a long day working in the garden, I plant myself in the lawn chair within reaching distance of SunGold.

I want to try intercropping, peas and grains. Just got some grain seeds in the mail from Prairie Garden Seeds... so exciting!
There is one wheat called "Dwarf Indian" which is supposed to be short and "sturdy", and I'd like to try it with the short peas, not sure how the timing works but ideally your grain would be ahead of the game so the peas can use it for support.
I still need to grow out the new stuff just to find out how tall and strong these grains are, and decide which ones might be a match for a pea of the right height.... Okay it's true, still looking for lazier ways to garden

For short pea varieties, there is nothing easier for me than to take a walk in the woods and bring home "y" and "t" branched sapling cuttings.

I wish you had them tucked away in the other direction...my neck is killing me

I downloaded and will try to spin it...it shows up on my pc as correct, but sideways in firefox/TJ. I have seen this before and forcing windows to spin it 360, four times, seems to fix it while adding some kilobytes. Have to love computers.

I also knocked it back to about 1/3 of file size with photoshop but retained pixel count for clarity. Right click and open in new tab for full size, for me.

I love the page about the traps as well.
I had (or have) some vine borer beetle in the greenhouse that messes things up by grubs that eat the roots. I think the board trap or similar is a way to nab the adults at the right time of year. Good time to refresh that subject matter in my mind.

I think my Dad tried every companion imaginable to try to keep carrot rust flies off his carrots - none worked. Too much rust fly habitat in the area.

I had a Red Russian Kale that volunteered this past year in the middle of a patch of strawberries next to the rhubarb. There were cabbage butterflies around all season but they didn't lay a single caterpillar on it. I was shocked!

Which companion combo repels voles? That's what I need!

A good cat that likes to hunt.

My companion planting is mowing the grass between rows instead of tilling. It gives the rabbits something to eat and cultivates diversity of bug life. For everything that eats my plants, something preys on it.

Thank you for posting the article, bjbebs. Jan moved from rural Iowa to Omaha due to her husbands declining health. She retired from writing last year as her husband helped with editing. She lives very close to me so all those tips apply. Jan is a wealth of information and I hope she remains active in the gardening community.
