Has anyone tried to germinate blue salvia from this winter's MMMM?....The labels will say "Victoria Blue or Blue Victory" on the packs. I'd appreciate hearing any results.

I received these. I planted 8 seeds on April 1 and 4 have germinated. Thanks for sharing them.

For this past swap I sent in zinnia seeds and had separated them into disk (smaller and narrow from the center disk) and ray seeds (arrow head shaped from ends of flower petals). They were packed separately and labeled them as such. Both are supposed to be viable seeds according to everything I read but I would really like to know how they both germinated. So I'm asking anyone who got those for their results and post it here or, if this isn't the place to do that, just PM me. If the seeds are mine you'll find "GoDawgs" written on the back of the inserted label. Thanks!

Excellent germination on approx 60 varieties of tomato/peppers from the 22 & 23 Swap. Here are the ones that didn't fare so well:

Kapidag Red '18 - 0/4 (also failed to germinate last year. Gave it a bit more care this year, but it didn't work.)
Tommy Toe '16 - 0/4, 0/3
Espellete Pepper '20 - 0/2, 0/2
Oda Pepper '21 - 0/2, 0/4

Green Gables '21 - 2/2 - 1 RL and 1 PL. Will grow both out and see what happens.

I'll have to see if I sent you all of the African Queen seed, as sometimes I save 1 to 4 seeds of a variety that I'm nearly out of. Having one pack of under 5 seeds is my way of knowing that's the last of my seeds for a variety. I'll finally be sowing seeds in a day or two, I think, and will start African Queen if I find any seeds.

Also, a huge package of more than 1,000 packs of seeds came in after the swap was nearly done. I'll have to check for AQ, there.

I had no time to correct the spelling on Jochalos.

And, with Iva's Red Berry and Gardener's Sweetheart, at one point during the swap I had plenty of seeds from multiple sources. Do you still have the original labels?

The Iva's and Gardener's are from MissTee and Toomanytomatoes respectively. I still have a few seeds left of each I may try even though it's getting pretty late for me. Might as well give them a shot.

mr brown, the tomato that is, from the 2021/22 swap is a regular leaf variety.
i have one plant that is looking like it is a potato leaf. it is still small, but the other
four plants look to be regular leaf. stray seed maybe or can potato leaf variants happen?
or, a possible cross?

Until now, I didn't even realize the Mr. Brown connection. But I was in a fog back then, for quite awhile.

There's never a stray seed directly from me. If I have to pack bulk seeds, the few that miss making it into a baggie get swept to the floor. And, this past winter, I couldn't bend over to pick up any that first dropped to the floor, either.

Luckily, no stepping, while wearing socks, on spinach seeds this past swap.

Yes, some are quite old (Liam's, OTV and Glick's Brandywines and Russian Mini Yellow). I only waited about 28 days. Some might still be in the tray though. I moved things around when I potted up.

Yes, it does. The original seeds were from Mandy's Greenhouse and it was her own de-hybridization. I've been growing them for 3 years now, typically planting 4 plants (2 seedlings per hole) and have only had 1 that was slightly off type which I understand is typical of Sungold/Sunsugar de-hybridization projects. Last year I trialed them against an actual Sungold hybrid from the Mmmm swap and the two were indistinguishable in color and flavor with the M's Sun Sugar being slightly larger in size and more productive.

Once I know all of the leaf types on all seedlings, and a close guesstimate as to how many plants that I can crowd in, I have no problem quickly offing all plants beyond a doubling of the number I have room for.
