Pizza Pepper?

I was comparing this year's garden growings with my brother yesterday and he mentioned how he loves Pizza Pepper because of its mild heat and sweetness when red. It sounds like something I'd like. Unfortunately he is out of seed and can't find any to buy so he can't send me any. If anyone has a few extra seeds to share I'd be grateful. I'll grow them this year, save seeds and pass them along to my bro as well as the MMMM swap.

Yes, that's the one. About $13 for one pack of seed plus shipping.

I had never heard of them either so did the same search you did. I'm not a fan of hot peppers per se. I can deal with jalapenos (I can up pickled jalapeno slices and like poppers) and like warm peppers for chili rellenos (I use numex or anchos for that) so I grow those. It turns out my brother's taste is similar to mine when it comes to heat and he said he's been growing Tam jalapeno but was then introduced to Pizza pepper and really likes it. He's never been a seed saver and is now regretting that since he has no more. LOL! But at least his asking me about it turned me on to something else I want to try.
Yeah, Territorial want $4.95 for the seed plus $7.95 shipping. Call me cheap but I consider that a waste of money for just one pack of seed and can do without it if necessary. It's OP so if I can ever grow one, I'm set.

Never heard of it either. Definitely want to try it now though! Looks like a great all-round pepper.

Territorial Seeds are OK quality-wise, but too expensive. Our local nursery quit carrying them a couple of years ago.

I have seed for TAM II Jalapeno Pepper. It is no longer available commercially, but I was able to get some seed from a kindly professor at Texas A & M University.
It is an improved TAM, bred to have more disease resistance. If you would like some just pm me. I grew it last year and really liked it. I had a hard time getting it to germinate because the seed were old but finally managed to get 5 seed to germinate, however, this year with the fresh seed that I saved I had very good germination.

Someone I know grew the Pizza peppers last year in containers and thought I should grow them to sell as container plants at the Farmers Market. I'm taking her advice and have some growing now.
I got my seed from an Etsy dealer. They list it as a hot pepper but mention in the description that it's mild.
Some places consider anything that isn't completely sweet to be hot.

I have some seeds left over and could send you 5 or so if you want. I haven't grown them out yet, but I got decent germination from the seeds.

i called territorial to see if they really were going to charge 7.95 shipping for one packet of seeds.
the woman i spoke with said they would give you a break for one packet of seeds. shipping for a single
packet will be 3.95 if that helps ya. i would mention that to them, and not assume they will give you a discounted rate.
