Re: On planting cucumbers
I wonder if I should replant? I was wearing clothing when I planted the seeds and I am also not a man. Oh well, I guess I will just cross my fingers and see if they germinate.

Re: On planting cucumbers
Followed the directions as best as I could .... with a few deviations .... the date was 17 May, I did wear shoes and I'm not young. No significant injuries noted. We'll see what happens.
Many people have eaten food from my kitchen and have gone on to lead normal, healthy lives.

Re: On planting cucumbers
It's well past May 1st, I'm way past young, and with almost 100 cucumber varieties to plant this year, starting to plant seed before sunup might take me well into midday. On a sunny day, I don't want a sunburn where the sun is not supposed to shine.

It looks like y'all are going to be having some insect damage on your cuc's this year. Better get yourselves prepared.

Re: On planting cucumbers
These came on two plants, picked today, transplants from a commercial nursery, so I would say that most of the above does not apply down under

Geographically at least, those transplants were planted by someone wearing clothes and middle aged as well

Re: On plan ting cucumbers
This didn’t work for me last year. Terrible cuke crop. I think it’s because I still had my shoes on. I’ll try again without them this spring and get back to y’all.
