I have room on board, for now.

It's early March, and I still haven't found my collection of winter squash seeds, nor my pole wax beans. They could be almost anywhere in the house, other than the attic.

As I was in a near sleepless fog last year, when it came to putting the collection away for the season, I had no idea where I put things until I started looking for, and finding, them. Live and learn, as this year things will be put away in an orderly fashion.
That's what they ALL say! I know, because I am currently slogging through a huge box full of tiny little baggies of tomato seeds and trying to get them in my spreadsheet before my MMMM package comes. You can hold off on mine for a while longer. I swear I will NEVER let them go this long again.....
SO GLAD to be back! I was locked out for about three months, for some strange reason.

Missed you all terribly!

The Monstahs have arrived.

Is this the next generation of the Hubbard cross that you sent the previous year?

And if so, do you think that it is worth growing out both of them, or just the Monstah?

hey gary,

i am not sure about the monstah family tree. it might be a cross of sweet fall, and one of the hubbards
even though sweet fall was in a different garden, bees will be bees. its either that or one of the hubbards
segregating out. nothing else in the garden was like it last year or the year before. the previous year seeds,
that squash was very good. skin was orange with green mottling. i saved seeds from a similar squash this year
that was again very good. the monstah was excellent. if you have room, grow both otherwise grow the monstah.

If my body feels up to it, I'm going to try for later today. This will take care of all southern participants. Being sick has meant almost a complete lost week.

Gary, again, take care of yourself first. In truth, I've started all of the seedlings I need for this year. I'll look forward to seeing what you send because there's never enough seeds or enough space, and your packages warm my heart. But take care of yourself first. Health problems stink!

There are currently only a few varieties in the swap that grow to monsters. And, I only recommend one, Domingo. If you'd like seeds of it, along with Mega Marv and "maybe" one or two others (I'll have to check to see what, if any, supply is left), PM me a mailing address. Otherwise, it's best to wait for the next swap starting in the fall.

I already have Domingo and Mega Marv (or Megamutt) that you sent me in trade for the No-ID Red Penna I offered. 😊 Thanks anyway, I'll wait until the fall as you suggested.

I’ve gone through my 2023 and 2024 MMMM swap seeds a couple of times now at least and separated out ones I might or really do want to grow from ones that I’ll likely never be interested in growing. The might and likely bag is bigger than the never bag.

I keep a working list on Google documents of the ones that are high priority, very interesting, I want to grow ASAP just so I won’t forget about them when the time comes. There’s fifty plus tomatoes on the list. I probably won’t grow more than 20 in any one season.

@Tormato, my MMMM package arrived yesterday. I fished it out of the mailbox around midnight last night and was so excited about it that I couldn't stop myself from going through it all and sorting the packets even though it was late. My most fun mail every year! Thanks again for all you do in running this swap and spreading some happiness around.

Wooooo Hoooooooo! I got my MMMM today! Boy, that's a relief since the Post Office's Atlanta Distribution Center has been a nightmare lately. They're implementing a whole new computer system/software thing and stuff is getting delayed, misrouted etc. It's also where small packages go to die. It took ten days for last month's power bill to arrive from the town 7 miles up the road where it was mailed to me!

Oh happy day! Thanks so much, @Tormato. This has been a monumental undertaking for you with your back problems and all. Consider yourself hugged. :D

Now.... off to spreadsheet land to log stuff in!

Hi Gary, my package arrived and it was better than Christmas !!!! Love all the varieties, its going to be so tough to decide what to grow this year ! I hope you are feeling better and the warm spring weather shows up for you soon ! Thank you so very much for doing this wonderful swap for us again this year. I appreciate it so much, its a bright spot in an otherwise dreary cold winter.

Also, a special thank you to NYTomatoNewbie for all the fabulous flower seeds ! I am going to start planting them this weekend 8-)
